this hotel is not a bad hotel. it's a bit older than the Fairfield Inn in Wilkes-Barre, which i stayed at before, so i was expecting it to be a bit nicer. the rooms were clean and roomy but did not have refridgerators like the Fairfield in Wilkes-Barre. it also costs about $30 a night more than the WB one, which i don't understand because it isn't as nice. overall, i'd say it's an ok place to stay but if you can, i'd suggest staying at the WB location.

I've stayed at many Fairfield Inns. I sort of had a clue about the place when I was checking in and another guest was complaining about how dirty the place was. I sort of blew her comments off because she seemed like a whiner. But, the carpet and particularly the elevator carpet were dirty and worn, and the place smelled like a bad Comfort Inn. The room was clean and adequate but everything seemed to be chosen based on making it as cheap as possible. The breakfast was minimal (emphasis on Cheerios). My two night stay was cut to one night due to a sudden change in plans. I was transferred to a Hampton Inn in Williamsport (2 hours away) which was a major step upward in comfort and class, all for $5 more per night.

Given the reviews in tripadvisor I expected a newer and cleaner hotel. Stayed one night in the hotel. The room was "ok" . The desk chair was significantly soiled with something, not sure what. Breakfast was crowded, dining room was small. Staff seemed friendly. Just expected more.

Beds were nice. Towels were thin. Ask for extras or bring your own. Room was clean and neat. Staff were friendly and helpful.
