“Started as hotel of business necessity, now the hotel of choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

My colleagues and I stay at this hotel each time we are in the area- 3-4 times a year now for upwards of a week since 2009- and are always pleased. Friendly staffs (who know us by now) as well as efficient and quick check in/out make this an easy choice for the late day & early morning business traveler.
Rooms have always been clean, comfortable, and with all items working. Convenient location to 24 hour store as well as walking distance to several restaurants and a great sport pub make this ideal for irregular hours and schedules. The free early breakfast of a "microwave menu" is adequate for the quick coffee and egg before heading out the door.
What started as the only place we knew next to our destination now is the preferred choice despite even finding out about other higher end hotels nearby. Best Holiday Inn Express I have stayed at.

“Consistently pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

This was our fourth stay at this hotel and, once again, we were extremely satisfied with the service, room, cleanliness and amenities. Our check in experience was quick and efficient. We checked in at 9pm and were offered an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite since the only remaining king guest rooms had recently been converted to non smoking rooms. Although our room had a large jacuzzi tub in the room, the tub was located outside the bathroom next to the bed. The sink was also located outside the bathroom and housed the coffee maker and cups. The desk, refrigerator, dresser and sink area seemed cramped into a smaller area because of the tub. We appreciated the gesture of offering an upgrade but I prefer their standard king guest rooms to the jacuzzi suite. Our room faced the main highway but we heard no highway noise whatsoever. The bed was comfortable and linens were plentiful. The complimentary full breakfast was more than satisfactory and the proximity to several restaurants made dining convenient. The hotel lobby was very welcoming with couches and TV and a coffee bar was available at all times. We definitely will return for a fifth time!

“Disappointed”

I am a frequent guest of this establishment and am generally happy with my stay. However, my room (#105) during this overnight stay (10/18/11) was awful! The fridge was making such a terrible noise I had to get out of bed and unplug it. I couldn't even fall asleep it was so annoying. Needless to say the beverages I had in it were lukewarm by morning. In addition to that the bathroom door made so much noise when you opened & closed it I hated to use the bathroom during the night for fear of waking up the other person in the room. As I said I've never been unhappy in the past but this experience makes me hesitant to book a room here again.

“Idiotic Housekeeping Rule w/No Disclosure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

We just stayed there for three nights. The hotel itself was fine. My complaint is that the manager of this hotel has instituted a rule (which you are not told about ahead of time) that the housekeeping staff may not touch your stuff. So if you leave a pair of jeans on the bed, or an empty piece of luggage, anything -- they will not make your bed. The housekeeper left a nice note explaining this rule, but it's a pretty stupid rule. I guess someone must have complained that something was taken at some point, but come on Ms. Manager -- if you have staff that want to steal things, they will steal things. Having this rule does nothing but frustrate and insult your customers. This does not extend just to beds, but to empty cups and other things -- everything you want taken out must be put in the trash, because they are told not to "touch your stuff." I've stayed in a lot of hotels in a lot of cities, from Motel 6 to Four Seasons, and I have never, ever heard of a hotel manager putting in place such a silly rule. You leave a pair of jeans on the bed, and they won't make the bed? You won't take out an empty coffee cup or a an empty cupcake box unless it is put in the trash? What am I paying for housekeeping services for? And I repeat, this is not my imagination -- two of the three nights, the housekeeper left a handwritten note explaining the rule. Just dumb and insulting.

“On par for a Holiday Inn Express”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

Stayed in Delmont/Murraysville because Monroeville equivalents were sold out. A bit pricey. Good location, check in was swift and front desk was very good. the surprise came the next morning was that my back was killing me!! The bed was pretty stiff and it took a day to get my back to calm down. Breakfast was great!! Would stay again if Monroeville hotels are sold out.
