me and my family stayed at the water gap inn/resort, the rooms were some what clean ut we found a blood staine on one of the matress also around 11 p.m the hotel's laundry room set on fire, the fire consumed the whole building the room was in and it burned to the ground, so in total the hotel was a dive, i recommend not staying there ecspeciely not for 85 dollars a night plus 5 dollars for every person after the starting 2

Please take our review seriously because this place completely ruined our vacation plan and I don't want anybody else to experience the same frustration. We found out this place at: ------ From the website, the description about the amenities of this place and the pictures posted seemed just fine. However, when we got there, everything looked just terrible. I am not going to repeat them here because what we saw was just like what every other reviewers had mentioned previously. Moreover, the indoor pool had no ceiling, the outdoor pool had no water and the mini-golf court was broken and shabby. There were rotten mattresses stacking in the back of the property that can be easily seen. The whole "resort" looked like a haunted mansion, smelly, moldy, run-down, falling apart and creepy. However, we had to check-in because there was no room available in that general area in that particular night. When we informed the manager that we will just stay one night and cancel our second night, he insisted that a full amount of charge is still required at the time of check-in (their house policy) and because we were too late to cancel (they have a 7-day cancellation policy). Even after we pointed out their false advertisement, he still charged us two nights of money. We did not have a choice for the first night, but fled the next morning. I am now in the process of filing a disputed charge with my credit card company. This place is a total "RIP OFF".

My sister booked the trip through Orbitz and showed me the pictures of the Water Gap where we were going to stay. From the pictures she downloaded from the Internet - the hotel was real nice. We were all excited to be staying there and couldn't wait to take advantage of the amenities. When we arrived at the Water Gap, every mouth in the car dropped from sheer disgust. The building looked like it was falling apart - literally. The paint was peeling and it was just plain dirty and molded. That was just the outside and for me - first impressions set the tone. We should have turned around right there!!! We went in the hotel to talk to the manager to cancel our reservations. Upon entering, we were hit by a foul smell, filthy carpet, junk all on the floor and no check-in person. We actually had to go and find someone to assist us. I can't begin to explain how digusting the bathroom was. We went into the dining area and the smell almost knocked us out. The dining area was horrible - dirty, smelly and the food was being cooked in big, nasty pots - right in the open - with flies buzzing around!! This only added to our determination to leave faster - regardless. When we finally found the manager and told him we wanted to cancel our reservations, he had the audacity to try and hype up the place even after we showed him the pictures we said was false advertising. We even checked out their so-called conference center. The pool was filthy!!!! The gym had dirt pounds all over it and the tiles were missing. The gym equipment was broken down and it stank to high heaven in there. The steps were rotten and had gigantic holes in them. The benches in the front were not fit for anyone to sit on. This place advertised in their write-up that they had renovated back in 2002!!! No where and I mean - no where - was that evident. I implore anyone considering staying at the Water Gap - DON'T because you will truly regret it. You will do like we did - run away as fast as possible - itching as you run. It's totally a DISGUSING, NASTY, FILTHY, DEPLORABLE hotel. Don't let the pictures fool you!!!! Thank God that Orbitz was able to find us another hotel at that late stage in the game. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and was totally satisfied.

We booked the hotel through an online service. We chose the hotel because it supposedly had a view of the river. Don't believe it. There is no view of the river. The hotel was a new low for my partner and myself. First, we booked through an online service that charged out credit card. When we arrived, the manager said they only use the credit card to hold the room, and that we had to pay cash. So we ended up paying cash for our room. Second, the place was really creepy. The buildings were falling apart. The paint was peeling, there was a terrible musty odor in the room, the floors were uneven, the carpet in the room was sticky, there was hair in the sheets, the toilet wouldn't flush properly, everything was rusted, and there was a hole in the bathroom floor that they tried to cover up with a mat. When I tried to shut the bathroom door, it got stuck, locking me in the bathroom. There was a ratty miniature golf course right outside our room, but it was so decrepit it looked like moldy carpet. This is a thoroughly disgusting hotel. STAY AWAY!! It was the worse place I have ever stayed.
