My husband and I went on a longer-and-harder-than-expected hike in the Allegheny forest. We last minute made a stop to the Holiday Inn after being desperate to relax, shower and sleep. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room itself had a wonderfully comfortable bed and a great shower (with much credit to the showerhead). I was a little disappointed that there was no whirlpool (especially after all the hiking I did), but the pool was heated to a warm, relaxing temperature, and although it was quite small, it sufficed to ease my aching muscles. The entire hotel was new and had just opened a few months before, so everything was clean and pleasant. The breakfast was typically of any hotel's, but I did enjoy the warm cinnamon rolls. (They did offer cereal, yogurt, bagels, toast, juice, coffee, etc.) A couple points of interest that I did not make use of: there is a shopping mall near the hotel, a steak and seafood restaurant, and a mexican restaurant all within about a five minute drive from the hotel. My husband and I were too tired to get back in the car and drive to one of these places for dinner, so we had pizza from a local place called Vicellis, which had very good food at a reasonable price.
Overall it was an enjoyable stay and I would definitely come back!
