“A convenient, comfortable place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

We were in a 6th floor queen bedroom suite for 4 days over Christmas. Our room was comfortable and quiet, except when the heating system kicked in like a jet engine. We quieted it down to a more tolerable level by turning the fan speed from hi to lo. The new HDTV had a disappointing low number of channels with their Lodgenet setup. We had wifi internet access, but borrowed a cable from the front desk for a more secure setup. The pool & hottub looked inviting, but our swimsuits were left at home. The staff was friendly, especially Jonathan and Mary at the front desk. The housekeepers were helpful. Our only disappointment was with the temperature of the food served for breakfast and the Monday night manager's reception. Most of was only lukewarm. The only things served piping hot were coffee and oatmeal. We understand how food can quickly cool once the serving covers are left open. But potato patties shouldn't arrive at the serving area at room temperature. While we appreciated the nightlight leading to the bathroom, the clock radio snooze light was way too bright.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the trains.

“Very nice Residence Inn except not all rooms with working internet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

We've stayed at many Residence Inns and it's always nice to have a full kitchen. The internet wireless and ethernet connections did not work and we had to move from room to room until we found one that worked. Otherwise we love the space, the bed, the cleanliness and wonderful breakfasts.

“Comfortable, clean and handily placed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

I have stayed here for business a few times now and always enjoyed the freedom to either eat out or try and prepare something in the kitchen!

It gets busy and you need to book ahead but my top tips for the best rooms are:

1) Go for the back or sides of the hotel, there is a train line out front and although it doesnt run at night it can be noisy if you are having a lie in
2) Unplug the refidgerator to get a quiter nights sleep

Room Tip: choose away from front

“My Cousin Vinny”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

Watch My Cousin Vinny before you stay here. The hotel is fine, however it sits on a train track and at some point you will here a trian rumbling through blowing its whistle. I found it funny because it reminded me of the movie but the way some people are I'm sure it could bother you. Also, its Pet Friendly so if you have allergies you could have a problem. Otherwise, very clean, rooms have kitchens and separete bedrooms etc. Right off the highway.

“Good but not splendid”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

I stayed at this Residence Inn for two nights at the beginning of August. I arrived at the hotel around 11pm. The lady who checked me in was very welcoming and friendly, gave me a short introduction to the different amenities of the hotel, which was very helpful. The hotel is slightly dated, from the lobby to the rooms the design is on the traditional side. I thought everything was clean in the room until I opened the cabinet door under the kitchen sink to find the trash can. I couldn't tell whether it was the cabinet or the trash can that had an odor, but I quickly put away the trash can and closed the cabinet door when I started to smell a strong urine-like odor coming out from under the sink. It took almost a day for the smell to go away, which was quite unpleasant.

The bed linens and the shower area are both clean and up to Marriott standards. I had a good night's sleep and a refreshing shower. Unfortunately, the first morning that I stayed in the room, I encountered a small flying cockroach in the bathroom sink area that I had to take care of. The fact that the Residence Inn has a kitchen area means that hotel guests are cooking in the room, which supports the survival of bugs. I did not encounter other insects during the rest of my stay, but I think this hotel can use some remodeling and extermination. The breakfast buffet in the mornings is good and has a nice variety of hot and cold items. Overall I think this hotel is a great option for business travelers and people needing an extended stay. However, there is definitely room for improvement.
