At first, when my husband and five-month-old son and I checked into the Comfort Inn Clearfield, I was a little relieved. The room looked clean, the decor was tasteful, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice-sized fridge. But then... the problems began. The air conditioning unit (and it was a HOT August) would cycle on and off randomly, no matter what setting it was on. The walls were so thin that we could hear every word of the TV next door. And the when you flicked on the switch in the bathroom, the bathroom fan made a noise like a jet engine taking off, and the light was a sickly yellow headache-inducing color. The final straw was the next morning, when we discovered that the fridge (although set to max) did not work at all, and we had to throw out two bottles of baby formula that we had made and refrigerated. Considering we paid about $100 for our one-night stay, I think it's fair to say that this was a less than satisfactory hotel experience.

The clerk at the front desk when we arrived was so wonderful to us and treated us like we was family, her name was: Jaimee.

On our way back to PA from Ohio we were caught in terrible weather and were too exhausted to continue. This was the 3rd place we stopped to check accomodations and prices. The price was very reasonable, the staff couldn't do enough to assist us, the room was spotless and the pool was very clean and inviting. I would recommend this facility to everyone and would definitely stop again if we return to the area.

On our one-night stay at this hotel, we were extremely disappointed. The beds werre very uncomfortable, offering little support. The walls have almost no sound-deadening qualities and the doors slam pretty hard, making for a noisy night. The room smelled like an odd blend of urine and magnolias - we originally thought a prior guest had wet the bed, but it soon became apparent that the smell was coming from the air conditioner. Some friends stayed in another room and noticed the same wierd smell.

The hotel is really showing its age, with peeling paint around the pool and faded, stained wallpaper throughout. The continental breakfast was slightly better than average, but hardly worth the price.

Truly a $60 hotel at a $120 rate. You'd be better off at the competition across the parking lot.
