“Comfortable room at the Comfort Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

We had a king room on the first floor and it was the kind of room we've come to expect from Comfort Inn. Clean, spacious with a comfortable bed.
There is a fittness room with a window overlooking the indoor pool.
This hotel provides a wonderful breakfast including waffles, eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, bagels, yogurt, orange juice, grape juice and more.

“Wouldn't recommend it.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Moldy. Sketchy men wondering around at night. Felt unhealthy and unsafe. Woke up all stuffed up and sneezing. Pretty much no food options around.

“Best hotel of the trip”

We have been traveling around the country for four weeks, so far. We stay in moderate type hotels, Comfort In, Holiday Inn Express, Best Western, etc. This Comfort Inn in Clearfield was the best room we have had to date. It is new, the rooms are large, the furnishings are new and up to date, ant it is very clean. The breakfast was also good, and fresh. Ip would recommend this hotel.

“Perfectly adequate interstate wayside stopover...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

Picked this hotel, as it was the 'Choice' hotel closest to where we'd get to that night.

The hotel itself is attractive enough, for a mid-range hotel next to the Interstate. The location and setting does scream 'Interstate stopover' though, being located on "Industrial Boulevard", with another hotel across the parking lot and surrounded by developed and undeveloped industrial land. Which leads to one problem with this hotel, not of its own fault: if you roll in later in the evening (like 9ish), finding a place to eat might be a bit problematic, and will require a short drive, to be sure. (We did eat at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub (I think, sp?) which was interesting and good, but was also one of the few choices that we could find that was closed or closing soon.

The lobby features a small breakfast room (we just grabbed coffee while running through), and the interior corridor seemed clean and well-lit. A fairly slow elevator services 2nd and 3rd floors. The room looked pleasant and clean, the bed comfortable enough; the TV worked, what more do you need when you're looking for a place to be safe, warm (or cool) and clean while you get off the road for 10 hours?

“A Good Hotel in an Area With Few Choices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

My sister and I stayed overnight at the Comfort Inn in Clearfield at Exit 120 on I-80 when we were attending a family funeral in nearby Curwensville. There’s a Hampton Inn next door to the Comfort Inn. My first choice for a mid-priced hotel when traveling is usually Hampton Inn, but the Comfort Inn was priced a good $30-$40 a night lower than the Hampton with my AARP discount.

Both hotels were busy, based on the number of cars in the park lot. There’s not much along I-80, and the State College/Clearfield/DuBois area is one of the last outposts of civilizations until you get to I-79 in the west or New Jersey in the east. The only restaurants around the hotel are fast food places. If you want a sit down restaurant you’ll have to drive to Clearfield or Curwensville.

The Comfort Inn was clean, both in the lobby/breakfast area and in the room. We had a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The bathroom was small but adequate. The front desk staff and breakfast attendants were friendly and attentive, and there were cookies available when we checked in.

I thought the Clearfield Comfort Inn offered a better and more varied complimentary breakfast than the typical Hampton Inn, especially the hot items. There was sausage gravy and biscuits, bacon, sausage, and ham, and scrambled eggs, in addition to pastries, bagels and cream cheese, bread for toast and English muffins, assorted cereals and oatmeal, and fruit, juice, milk, coffee, and tea.

I would stay at this hotel again if I were visiting the area.
