Unfortunately this occurred last year, but still burns me. We were staying at this facility and circumstances resulted in our changing rooms. Due to an error on the changeover, the clerk did not remove our name from the previous room. Therefore, we were billed for 2 nights. for duplicate rooms. A human error we could live with, BUT it took 3 MONTHS and over 3 HOURS of toll calls to correct the billing error. Unacceptable.
In addition, the environmental staff was extremely inconsiderate in their early AM, with loud voices and banging of carts, etc.
Even though my daughter still attends Widener University, my wife and I refuse to consider staying at this hotel.

No, you won't be stuck in a dorm room, fraternity or sorority house. This Best Western property is tucked away on the Widener University campus about 6 miles south of Philadelphia Int. Airport. Save for occasional traffic jams on I-95, it's no more than a 10-minute ride once you're picked up by the complimentary shuttle van. Drivers in each direction were enormously courteous (the driver to the hotel fixing a problem I had with my cell phone en route without breaking a sweat!). I booked my room on Hotwire. The property is pretty "plain Jane" but I found myself unexpectedly booked into an ADA room so had a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower. The only problem was there was only one overhead light fixture, so when you took a shower and closed the opague folding door/curtain, it was pretty dark.

There was the customary big-screen flat TV and, wonder of wonders, a remote control you didn't need an engineering degree to figure out. Another thoughtful touch was a door hang tag on which you could specify the time you wished to have your room made up by the maid the next day - a convenience I wish more hotels would adopt rather than having to play Make-Up Roulette as you often do.

This property is noticeably quiet (at least my 2nd floor corridor was) being on a college campus. There is a complimentary breakfast with which you can manage to survive if you like make-your-own waffles, cereals, pastries, etc. I did not choose to avail myself of these offerings. And, of course, there are free computers with which you can download your boarding pass (which even I, techno-klutz that I am, could navigate!). Those looking for brighter lights can repair to a close-by Harrah's Casino. Sightseers can take the SEPTA train from the airport to downtown Philadelphia or can drive to nearby sights in the Brandywine Valley including Wyeth attractions, Winterthur, and Longwood Gardens.

We needed a place to stay to visit my mother-in-law in Wallingford and chose this hotel after reading all the reviews for nearby hotels. It was a good choice and we will return. Staff were helpful and our room was clean and pleasant. We were in the handicap accessible room because we got a special rate (don't know how that works) and there were a few things about the bathroom that could have made both our stay and that of a person with disabilities better. The roll-in shower needed a rod to fix the hand held shower in position, there was no hair dryer although we got one quickly when we asked (most rooms have a wall hung one) and a regularly placed hook for those not using a wheelchair would be great. The bed is not as high as some, which makes it easier to get in and out of. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond. The neighborhood is city/college and could be scary to those not used to an urban setting. We didn't find it a problem even arriving close to midnight. Pluses for us were that the windows open, the bed was good, they actively recycle and there was a no smoking policy and literature on how to quit. This property is part of Widener University's urban revitalization efforts and seems willing to provide employment for students and nearby residents. Drawback is no walk-to restaurant, just a busy 7-11 and no pool, but we didn't need either so it was fine with us. There were lot of airport travelers, including flight personnel, the night we were there and they were shuttled in and out as needed. We were driving and found it very easy to get on 476, once we got our bearings (I'm a map reader, not a GPS user. I know, I know...)

Rooms are of a of a good standard, lifts were not operating so alot of stairs. Parking is poor. The staff were very good . This is OK for 1 night. Other than the hotel there is not much around here.
