“Can't wait to go back!”

We got the last room at this lodge on Labor Day weekend, with no knowledge of the local accommodation, so we were very lucky and we loved the place - the rooms are like little apartments with microwave and fridge, wide-screen TV, closet, full bath, even an iron and ironing board, and good wi-fi. There was a deck on the back overlooking a big pond with a walking trail, and the setting was very well landscaped and mowed. There was a continental breakfast offered and the rates were reasonable with a AAA discount. We are already planning to go back in October.

“Great Place to stay”

We were visiting family and this was about 5 miles from their home. We had a great room witha balcony and a view of the lake. We brought our dog with us as they are "pet friendly". The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless...
There is a nice lake that you are permitted to fish... no fishing license required as this is a private lake. We will definitely be back.
This hotel is close to Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater" home, Ohiopyle State Park, Lots of hiking trails, biking,, and great whitewater rafting... in the beautiful Laurel Highlands

“Great place for the price.”

Our room was spacious, clean and had a comfy bed; coffee on the sunny deck in the morning was perfect and the location is perfect for all the goings-on in the Laurel Highlands. The full kitchen was very convenient and the price was really right. Sure, it could stand some updating, but the cleanliness, price and family atmosphere will bring us back.

“Would not recommend”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

The room was musty and smelled like an ash tray. The refrigerator had mold and was disgusting. We went to sit on the deck, however, the chairs and table were filthy. The last guest used the table for an ash tray. Also the table only had three legs and was unusable. The TV only got about 5 channels and reception was bad. Both beds were very uncomfortable the bed spreads had stains and burn holes. The hair dryer did not work there was not soap in the soap dispenser. We will not stay there again.

“Fabulous centre for exploring”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

Wonderful setting in the middle of woodlands with its own lake. Perfectly placed to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob houses which are both stunning. Cabin itself a little basic but you should not be wanting to spend too much time in it! We arrived in snow and there were very few people staying at this time so it felt a little like a ghost town but in high season it would be buzzing. Great value and a great centre to explore wonderful Pennsylvania.
