A road trip to start the New Year, mild temperatures, First Night Celebration in Carlisle, and Mary's hospitality at the Carlisle House B&B - a great combination. With the B&B only blocks from the downtown celebrations we were able to enjoy a jazz singer, Elvis impersonator, rock band, acoustic guitar performance, bell ringers, Mr. Saey's beautiful tenor voice, fireworks, and the friendliness of Carlisle volunteers. There were even more acts than these, but we had to fit in sushi at Mt. Fuji and a drink at The Gingerbread House! The Carlisle B&B had the perfect location for our stay and a late 9:AM breakfast with blackeyed peas to guarantee a great 2012!
Thank you, Mary and Alan.
Room Tip: Stayed in the Library on first floor, very convenient to going in and out the back door.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We love the Carlisle First Night celebrations, they are always so much fun! Actually, you can find a short video of the midnight Car Drop on the Carlisle House Bed and Breakfast Facebook page, just in case you were in the Gingerbread Man at midnight! Next year (12/31/2012) is the Fifteenth First Night, and Carlisle is already working towards it being the best one yet!
As far as the black-eyed peas go, I am the English half of the owners so I don't really understand this. But as long as you thought it was good, well, Happy New Year 2012!!
