“Not as advertised”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed here for only one night(thank God) on our trip to Fla.. We chose it because of it's closeness to our route and it's sign that read "Recently remodeled." Maybe it was an old sign because the room we had was NOT recently remodeled! The walls and ceiling had cracks and were peeling, the towels were dingy looking. Room was freezing on our entry, turned the heat up, and then it never stopped running, even though we got VERY warm. We paid $+89 for the night. The next night we stayed at a WONDERFUL Hampton in Brunswick for $10 more than the Econolodge. Will not stay again at an Econolodge without inspecting a room before paying for it.

Room Tip: Ask to see your room before paying.

“Outside Nice, but Inside was dated.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

Chose this hotel because it looked new, but they gave me a room in the back building which was old. Heater stopped working halfway thru the nite, so had to stop for a couple of minutes & restart it. Looked like the place was empty but gave me the cheapest, furthest away room. If I had to do it again I would have chosen another place, HoJo or even Super8, I think would have been better. Also, room was freezing cold when I got in & took an hour to heat up.

Room Tip: As to see the room first & tell them you have AAA for the best price.

“A Trucker's Hotel - clean bed, not much else.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

I stayed at the Econolodge on business, for one night. The room was old, and needed repair (ceiling cracking, old switches, etc), and the bedspread needed washing. The sheets were clean, the pillows were fresh, and the general cleanliness was acceptable for the $49 price tag. It's definitely not worth more than that however. I will pay a bit extra for a nicer place next time I am in town.

“Nice and inexpensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

We needed a place to stay after a last-minute change of plans. The motel was clean and the staff was very friendly. No complaints

“Horrible Experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

My family and I stayed at this hotel this week, and it was the worst hotel I've ever been to. The rooms were very humid and moist, so bad that the sheets and carpet were literally wet. the quality of the microwave, fridge, TV, toiletries, etc. was cheap and low-quality. The man at the front desk was fairly friendly when I asked for more towels and shampoo when we got to our rooms and realized there wasnt nearly enough for a family of four. The "complimentary breakfast" consisted of dry bagels, cheap donuts, a toaster that burnt everything you put in there, coffee that tasted like dirty water, bananas that were either underripe or overripe, and stale cereal. And when we were trying to get out of the horrid place at check-out, no one came to the front desk, even when we rang the bell four times. We had to call the hotel on a phone and tell them to come help us. The only good thing about this hotel was the Wi-Fi.
