Hotel is suppose to be all non-smoking rooms, but you could easily tell when you enter the room that previous guests had smoked. The room smell was verified by the cigarette burns in the sink. It was 92 degress outside and the air conditioner wasn't turned on which made the room smell worse. The towels were damp as if someone had already used them. I'm guessing the dampness was from the humidity in the room or a faulty air conditioner. It sounds as though "Woodnstick" and I stayed in the same room. I didn't sleep a wink either. Place was not nearly worth $140.00 per night.

My wife and I enjoyed our one-night stay at HIE on our road trip to Cincinnati, OH. Upon check-in, the hotel staff informed us of the time of the closure of Washington Pike (because of Memorial Day parade) the following day and hence did what was necessary to serve breakfast one hour earlier (so that the hotel guests could eat before checking out). That was so thoughtful and professional of the hotel staff.

The strange/bad-

My room was basically in the lobby so I could here everything going on out there. Room had a hot tub in the bed room which I thought was kind of strange/trashy. Bed had a plastic cover on it (Im guessing because of the hot tub) which made the bed rather uncomfortable. Upstairs nieghbors were running their hot hot all night, which was rather noisy. Room was rather large.

The good/decent- Decor was consistent with other Holiday inns. Free parking, free internet, free breakfast (of poor quality). Price was reasonable considering all of Pittsburgh was sold out that weekend. Close to the highway.

Musty smell and damp feeling to the carpet. Loud clunky air conditioner. Old time TV (not updated). The worst part was the plastic liner under the sheets. Cigarette burns in the sink. $140 are you kidding me? If you go to a hotel to sleep, this is not the place. Did not sleep a wink.
