Angela was very accommodating when I made the reservation as I needed to change the dates a couple time due to my husband's job demands. The evening we arrived, Angela gave us the basic info very quickly and was gone. Not a friendly welcome, just business. Angela was very friendly and chatty during the breakfast time. The mattress on the bed in room 6 is well used and makes you roll towards the door, the bed creeks every time you move, lights shine through the blinds all night, and trucks can be heard through the night. The light and trucks may not bother those who are used to city living. However, it should be mentioned so guests can choose a different room that does not face the road if this will be a problem. The first morning when we showered we noticed the shower curtain had black mold all along the bottom. Gross! I did not want to mention this to Angela at breakfast in front of the other guests, so we went to our room and waited until breakfast was over. We heard someone on the other side of the dining room door (Angela's private living area) and knocked on the door a few times but no one would answer so we rang the door bell and still they did not answer, finally I tried calling and the number sounded like a fax number, thinking I dialed wrong I tried again with the same result. I did not have the wrong number because it was on the Greystone manor card that was on the table in the room where guests sign in. The second morning I asked for the shower curtain to be changed as soon as we were done eating. Angela apologized and it was changed when we returned to our room that evening, however we never should have been given a room with a moldy shower curtain, housekeeping should change them between guests. The room also had a slight mildew smell, possibly from the shower curtain. The ceiling paint was peeling in the bathroom. Breakfast the first morning was your basic Sam's Club/BJ's and store bought pastries/cookies, eggs with 2 half dollar-sized "hashbrowns", a small piece of sausage, with fresh fruit and instant oatmeal was available. The second morning was a crepe with canned apple pie filling plus brown sugar in the middle along with a small piece of kielbasa and the same pastries/cookies/fruit/instant oatmeal. The crepe was so sweet for breakfast that I could not eat it. The third morning was French toast with the same apple pie filling so I asked for no apple pie filling, however the French toast tasted like it was dipped in sugar before being cooked. Some people like sugary foods for breakfast and this would be OK for them, but if you want a healthy meal be sure to give a special notice when making the reservation. This was the first B&B we've stayed at where the muffins and danishes were not homemade and no homemade afternoon or evening snack was offered (we've stayed at B&Bs in Lancaster County, Indianna, & Virginia). The snacks were snack-sized bagged chips and drinks that had a price list and basket for the money. The room was clean except for hair on the back of the bathroom door. Overall the B&B was clean and friendly and I think the shower curtain was an oversight and not the norm for this B&B. I do think most people would be satisfied with this B&B because many would not mind the light or noise and a lot of people like sweet breakfasts, plus I'm sure the shower curtain incident is not the norm. I personally would not stay at Greystone Manor again.
