“Nice place if you don't use internet”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2008

I go to places like this because I travel on business. I have to have internet connections that are robust enough to handle email, pictures, video files, searches - basically about anything relating to business they way business is run in the 21st century. Internet speeds here are abysmal - we aren't talking Wyoming here but a major American city on the East Coast on several internet backbones. That is the reason I won't be coming back.

Having said that, the rooms are OK, the noise is with humanly accepted norms, and although the staff is sparse they are helpful.

“Great location Clean rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2008

Great place to stay. The location is close to Franklin Mills - A Casino is across the stree (although we don't gamble).

Many restaurants close by, quiet area and very close to 95 that goes to downtown Phlilly.

The hotel was clean, modern, fresh, and the staff was friendly.
Would go back again and again.

“neutral over the extended stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2007

This hotel offered minimal service and met your basic needs. The rooms were acceptable ie. no bed bugs or significnat mildew in the bathrooms. However, with limited housekeeping service (at a cost of $5/day) it is no wonder that some of the room can become quite worn. The full refrigerator and microwave were very convenient for our needs. The rooms were quiet and mostly business travellers. The location was a bit sketchy however was convenient to drive to areas of interest. Again, you get what you paid for and this is hotel certainly offers the minimal. The front desk was not the most friendly of people and you did not really feel any hospitality at all. Despite not being impressed by this hotel we were not disgusted either.

“Handy Convenient Place”

We were looking for a hotel near the new casino in Bensalem and we found it. Right across the street. We went down to the grocery store to pick up a few things to eat because we had a fridge and microwave and two stove elements. Also silverware, plates etc.. It was right across the street from Philadelphia park raceway/casino so we just walked. I'd say it was about 4 blocks distance because the building is off the road a bit. The bed was nice and the front desk staff friendly. There is a mall just down the street and a nice restaurant almost right in the same parking lot. For the price $74., we thought it was a pretty good deal.

“Decent but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2007

I stayed at this particular location for approx 8 days from after Christmas to after New Years. It was my first time staying with this particular chain, so I was unsure of what to expect. My main reason for booking it was the fact that it was affordable for the area and the room had a small kitchenette, thinking I could save on food/eating out.

The room was very nice and clean, and large enough. No extra frills though - no usual amenitites like complimentary pen/paper/etc. They charge for their internet access, which I didn't get, so I can't say if it was worth it or not.

The only real problem I had was our toliet stopped up about three days after we'd checked in and I informed the front desk girl (it was extremely early in the morning, of course, these things never happen during business hours, do they?) and she advised me that she would inform her manager and have someone fix it. I was fine with that as we were heading out to New York for the day and wouldn't be back till later.

Unfortunately, when we got back, the toliet was still stuck. Angry, I went down to the front desk to complain, but the desk manager was there and offered to plunge it herself, so I was appeased. (lol)

Overall, I'd stay at the hotel again, definitely, but next time I will bring my own coffee cream, coffee and dishwashing liquid as well as plates, as the dishes they 'give' you to use during your stay do not last for long and I found myself washing dishes almost every day. Not exactly what I want to do on vacation.

Also of note - the location is very accessible and we had no problems with traffic or getting lost. I enjoyed the fact the hotel is enclosed instead of doors facing out - it makes you feel more secure.

Only negatives would be I think you should be allowed more than just one 'housekeeping token' per week and that the walls are rather thin. It was fine the first part of are stay as no one was around, but after new years the hotel was busier (although nowhere near sold out) and I think they put us all on the same floor, right next to each other. The hallway was busy busy and the noise level was annoying.

  • Liked — Accessibility and price
  • Disliked — Constantly running out of dishwashing liquid
  • Tips/Secrets — Pay for the extra housekeeping token; it's worth it.
