“Good Value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Needed a place to stay for New Years Eve and booked this hotel thru Hotwire. Very reasonable rate and location is good right off Route 1. East to locate and drive to. Next to Dunkin Donuts and near Parx Casino.
Check in was fast - asked for 2nd floor (of 2) and was given a room near the end of the hall. No elevator so we dragged our luggage to the stairs and walked the longest hall I think I have ever seen. Started at room 200 and ended at 262. The desk person should have told us to drived our car around the building and enter thru one of the other outside doors.
Room was fine for the price - 6 pillows - good mattress, lighting was too low, micro, fridge, free Wifi in room and clean but worn bathroom (trim was chipped and some paper on the floor) Overall fine for a night. Coffee available in lobby in morning.
Out for New Years and when we came back parked in the back near an outside door. Our luck the door opening by swipe feature was not working so we drove back to the front and came in for the long walk back to our room. Not what we needed at 3AM.
Even though on a busy road, the noise level was acceptable. Heard some hallway noise in the morning with doors and talking.
Overall, for the right rate would stay here again, None of the issues were that important and the bed was comfortable and everything worked in the room and it seemed clean.

Room Tip: Make sure you know where your room is so you don't have to drag luggage further then necessary

I'm glad that you enjoyed your time with us and we met your needs. I am sorry about the long walk, we do have some long hallways and driving around to the side doors are always closer. Our front desk usually gives the option to drive or walk and I apologize that you were not given that option. We do try our best to keep every rooms appearance fresh and up to date for our guests satisfaction. Thank you for your review and hopefully we will see you again if you return to the area.

“Great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011 via mobile

This is the 3rd time I stayed here. What a difference and it seems staff is doing great job. Every time I come here I see something new and the Christmas Decor just wowed me, it seems home away from home. Tine at the front desk help my wife with her needs. Hey all the fellows at Holiday Inn keep up the good work.

“Price + Pet Friendly = Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

Spent 3 nights at this Holiday Inn and we found it to be a nice, basic, clean hotel. We rate this 4 out of 5 for the kind of hotel that it is. It is not a luxury hotel. We picked this location because it was convenient to folks we were visiting in NE Philadelphia, and we wanted to find a place that was inexpensive and dog friendly. The last time we had these goals we stayed at the Red Roof Inn in the area and it was in such poor condition that we never wanted to return. By contrast, this hotel is very clean, well appointed, and comfortable. We had a king bedroom, which contained a nice little sofa, a full-sized desk, a microwave, and small refrigerator, which came in handy. WIFI was free, and we really appreciated that as we had computer work to accomplish during our stay. Our room was on the second floor, which is what others have suggested, and we found the only disadvantage to that is that there is no elevator, so we had to lug our luggage upstairs. No help was offered. Not a terrible situation, but an inconvenience (especially when you have dog paraphernalia and you are not a kid). The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean, which are two bottom-line criteria for us, and the Holiday Inn satisfied. Our only concerns were with the cleaning staff. As stated earlier the rooms were clean. Minor, but annoying issues: day 2, we had no shampoo (and they had taken the remnants of the previous shampoo away, but not given us a replacement); day three, we had no soap (ditto) and we were running out of toilet paper. Each time, we had to go to the front desk and make a request. If the hotel had been really busy, a mistake is totally understandable. But the hotel was not busy, either of those evenings. And we are excellent tippers. So, an easy fix: staff, get a checklist, make sure daily customer needs are met. You are doing a fine job cleaning the rooms. A few basic improvements and this will be a competitive hotel in your niche. Another request of the staff: Keep the noise down in the morning. At 9 o'clock the maids were chatting loudly in the hallway, slamming doors as they go in and out of the nearby rooms. Hey. Sometimes, people want/need to sleep in the morning. At 9:30, there was a knock on our door. When we said that we were not ready for our room to be serviced, the cleaning person expressed her unhappiness and she demanded to know what time she could get in. Really, the only impolite moment of our stay.

Room Tip: Go for the second floor.

Thank you for your review from your previous stay with us. While I am happy to hear that you did enjoy yourself I am sorry that you had to deal with those issues. We do not want any of our guests to have to experience even the slightest problem. Thank you for your suggestions and we do not plan on having this happen again.

Stay here for one night, room is ok but the bathroom is too small, found little stain on the blanket, good location, lots of restaurant near by and the casino is not far away.

“Don't get a room on the first floor!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011 via mobile

We stayed here for several days. I had a room on the first floor, and anyone else on the first floor had to pass our room to get further down the hallway. The doors are very thin and people outside woke up Traveling Tot several times during our stay. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated, some small maintenance issues but nothing severe. It is in an accessible location with 2 malls nearby as well as the turnpike.

I did not get anything for being a Priority Club member, though my other family members got a gift bag and a voucher for one complimentary breakfast, so they are not consistent with this.

There is no complimentary continental breakfast or anything like that here, but there is a Dunkin Donuts just across the parking lot that we walked to every morning rather than paying for hotel breakfast.

The rooms have a fridge and microwave, and are clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel does not have an elevator, but if you get put on the first floor, ask for a room at the end of the hall so you don't have crowds of people passing by your door.

Pool is an outdoor pool and is closed in the colder months.

I would stay here again but only if Hampton Inn doesn't have room. I think they're a better deal...
