The Innkeeper, Oralee, was very interested in us enjoying our stay in Bedford. She gave us much literature on area attractions. She recommended restaurants and also told us where the food wasn't as good.
We liked touring the local shoppes, great for women's clothes (the consignment store was a bit more in my price range, however), antiques and outdoorsey wear. Several times we frequented the vegetarian restaurant and Bad Boys(restaurant and bar). In the town there are several other good places to eat but the length of our stay preluded us from trying more. Believe it or not there is also a movie theatre in the town. Then there was one early evening showing of TOY STORY3. Candy stores, too.
The place is steeped in history .The Inn itself is mostly the original construction from the late 18th century as well as other buildings in the town and the "Old Bedford Village." We didn't make it there on this stay, but I think there's demonstrations of the crafts of the people back then.
Our Queen sized bed was very comfy and the room was tastefully decorated with antiques. We really enjoyed our stay. Beach at Shawnee State Park several miles to the west.
At the time we were there the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner do to some upkeep being done to the building.
