“Wonderful location”

The best part of Fireside Motel is the wonderful beach that it sits on. It shares the property with a more upscale hotel that has a lovely spa. We stayed at the Fireside and visited the spa in the larger hotel, which gave us access to the jacuzzi (which has a breathtaking view of crashing waves). The hotel is simple but everything is clean. We had a regular room without ocean view, and still enjoyed walking outside and around the corner to see, hear and smell the surf just about a hundred yards from the hotel. If you like visiting natural beaches, this is the place for you! There are many trails along the surf, and wonderful rocks and tidal pools awaiting discovery. Fireside Motel has picnic tables and a charcoal grill available, so next time we'll probably pack a picnic! The hotel also has a gift shop, which offers complimentary coffee and tea. The weather was cool when we visited (in August), so a warm cup of herbal tea was a welcome treat!

We certainly appreciate your wonderful review of the Fireside Motel. I have to admit that we probably would not be here if not for ‘the wonderful beach that we sit on.’ That is the number one reason that our guests stay with us! The Fireside Motel has both ocean view and non ocean view rooms. Our non-ocean view rooms are an economical choice for those that want to come to the coast but may be on a tight budget. Right now through 1/31/2012 the Fireside guests are able to enjoy the spa at our sister location, Overleaf Lodge and Spa. There are many natural areas and hiking trails close to us, one of which is the historic 804 trail that runs along the ocean in front of the Fireside Motel. Stop by the front desk for complimentary maps and literature regarding the trails and parks in the area. Don’t forget to “like” us on Facebook for upcoming specials and promotions.

“Majestic and wonderful”

Our family selected this motel by accident on our way down to California in August of 2011. We ended up staying in Yachats longer than we planned because of our experience. We stayed in a less expensive Northside room and thought we may miss not being able to see the ocean from our room. Not a problem we found because if you turn a couple yards from your front door you will walk into an oasis. A trail which carries you through trees, various plantlife and rock formations with various beaches and tidepools to explore along the way. There are places to relax on the large rocks and benches along the trail placed strategically so that you can gaze at the ocean. The power of the waves hitting the rocks and spraying everywhere will amaze and entertain you. The staff were so friendly and gave great dinner recommendations. The gift shop is adorable. Beds were comfortable. What more can you ask for?

We certainly appreciate these majestic and wonderful comments Kirasmile. Our northside rooms which are non-oceanview are an economical choice for those wanting to come and spend some time here in Yachats, but yet still be right next to the ocean. We have many guests that come to the Fireside and end up staying longer than expected because of our gorgeous views, trails, beaches, shops and restaurants here in Yachats. Right in front of the Fireside sits the historic 804 trail which follows along the coastline in and out of rocky coves full of tidepools and on to the sandy beach, all of which are great exploring opportunities for you, children and/or your favorite pet! Whether you are here to storm watch during the Winter, or explore our beaches in the Summer this is a great place to stay for a few nights. Our staff works hard to make your time with us enjoyable and relaxing as well. Thank you to Kirasmile and all of our wonderful guests!

“Fireside compared to Overleaf”

With both properties viewn g same great ocean it's hard to fault them on the views.
Fireside is pet friendly and offers no breakfast. No extra fee to take breakfast at 9Overleaf.
It's some distance into Yachats so breakfast is Abigail deal.
Room 18 was updated and very comfortable but next time we will choose Overleaf.

Room Tip: Room 18 was newly updated and very nice.

Thank you for your kind comments about our great ocean views and the comfort of room 18. We completely remodeled this room and room 7 earlier this year, among our many other room updates that we pursue annually.
Comparing the Overleaf with the Fireside is a little like comparing apples with oranges. Both are great……it just depends on what your vacation dreams and budget are. Guests at the Overleaf Lodge enjoy breakfast, full access to the Overleaf Spa, including saunas steamrooms and oceanfront hot pools and other in-room amenities. Fireside guests can bring their pets and enjoy the same oceanfront setting as the Overleaf Lodge and a much lower price point. Fireside guests can also have access to the Overleaf Spa and Overleaf Breakfast when they reserve a one-hour (or longer) massage or facial at the Spa. Finally, there are many other breakfast options in Yachats which is approximately ½ mile from the hotel; there are 8 restaurants/cafes/diners in town. Whether you’re staying at the Fireside Motel or the Overleaf Lodge we look forward to seeing you again.

“Great views”

This was our 4th visit to the Fireside. We love the Oregon Coast and particularly the stretch south of Newport down to Yachats. When we stay overnight we enjoy the Fireside since our room is oceanfront and we can take our dog. The room we get has a fireplace, refrigerator and microwave and is nicely furnished. The walk along the coastline in front of the Fireside is very convenient providing good exercise for the dog and amazing views of the ocean.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a fireplace and oceanfront.

Thank you BBBP552 for your great summary of the Fireside Motel. We have rooms ranging from our King Spa room (which is oceanfront with a king bed, fireplace, balcony and 2 person jetted tub) to our economical non-ocean view rooms. Regardless of the room you select, all have very close access to the oceanfront. All of our rooms have a convenience size refrigerator, coffee pot, DVD player, and wi-fi. The historic 804 trail is a great place to walk your dog and about a half mile north on the trail you will find a sandy beach that stretches approximately 8 miles. A one night stay never does seem to be enough for many of our guests. Often, when a guest is checking out, I overhear them saying how they wished they could stay longer. Winter is great storm watching time, which sounds like a great excuse to come visit the Fireside Motel for a few nights. Make sure to “like” us on Facebook as we often have promotions there.
