“Third time and Still a Charm!”

We'd been to the Adobe on two prior occasions several years ago but were a little daunted by some of the more negative reviews read here. We wondered if it had gone downhill -- enough so that we inquired at the nearby Overleaf Spa. But we loved the Adobe and decided to stick with it one more time. We need not have worried. It's not a glitzy spa-like place but still comfortable, clean, and you can't beat the location. They've got an indoor pool etc. if you want but it really is all about the ocean at the Adobe (not about spa treatments). Our experience this time was even better than our previous two visits! The only negative note was that we were seated in the annex area for dinner Saturday night and though the service and food were good and the view excellent, the lighting and setup of the annex area took away from the ambience making it seem a little cafeteria like. If you are planning to eat at the Adobe, insist on a window table in the main dining room. Lots of dog lovers around the grounds but unless you reserve in the pet wing, you wouldn't know it was a pet friendly hotel. Their website kind of sucks, but maybe that's okay in that it keeps the place accessible to return guests like us! It's not the fanciest place in the vicinity but it's the best for the Yachats experience.

Room Tip: Top floor ocean view is best! We heard NOTHING but the surf. The jacuzzi rooms are nice but not ne...

“A gem of a hotel/restaurant on the Oregon Coast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

The Adobe Resort offers a grand view of the Oregon Coast and an excellent restaurant where one can dine leisurely while watching the sun set. Our room had a jetted tub with a view that was a perfect place for wine, cheese and fruit. There was also a fireplace, but we didn't use it because the Autumn was warm. Other comforts and features that our room boasted was a refrigerator, microwave and wi-fi at no charge. The indoor pool is large and well maintained as was the hot tub and the wading pool. Overall we found a well appointed bargain in a town of 850 with no stoplight.

Room Tip: There's no AC, so if it's warm in Yachats ask for a room with with less sun exposure.

“Great experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

The resort is getting along in years so the weat and tear is beginning to show. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Had a very nice dinner but nothing exceptional except the view. Their is a great walking path along the beach that makes you feel like you are really out away from everyone.
All in all a great experience.

Room Tip: The North wing rooms have better accomodations, are all pet friendly but don't have as great a v...

“Great ocean front location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

We spent an enjoyable night at the Hotel Adobe in Yachats while driving down the Oregon coast earlier this month. It is located right on the coast next to a large rock formation, so you hear the surf breaking constantly, very relaxing. The room was comfortable and well furnished, with a beautiful ocean view. The young lady at the front desk recommended her favorite room, which has a fireplace and it was a good choice. We were fortunate enough to see whales swimming past, which was a nice bonus. We ate in the restaurant, reservations recommended if you want a window seat. The food and service were great, enjoyed the salad bar, the only slight problem was the brightness of the setting sun. It would be a good idea for them to invest in some kind of shade for this, quite a few diners were wearing sunglasses. But of course it is only a temporary issue. There is a great lounge next to the restaurant, again with an ocean view. The next day we went for a walk on part of the 804 trail, which was very pleasant. It is an easy walk and you can make it long or short depending on your preference. There are benches along the way to rest, or just sit and enjoy the ocean view.

“Pet friendly building and room not so human friendly”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

We reserved our room ahead of time. After our arrival with our two dogs we were directed to a "pet friendly" building with an explanation from the front desk staff that some people are allergic to pets. I understand and respect that. When we arrived to the "pet friendly" building we were overwhelmed by the strong urine smell by the front door to the building. The hallway and staircase to our room on the second floor was smelly and dirty. Our room was spacious and had a partial view of the ocean. The carpet in the room was worn out with number of stains and tear in it. The furniture remembered better days and the bedspread should have been retired some time ago. The bathroom towels were clean but the light fixture from the 60th could used some dusting. When traveling with pets, one doesn't need to feel like being in a "leash off dog park" at the end of dry summer. I am glad that other travelers had much nicer experience in this establishment. They obviously were not traveling with pets and were not put in the "pet reserved building". Luckily, all our other "pet room friendly" places we stayed on the Oregon Coast were very nice, clean, smell free and truly pet and human friendly.
