Well, my son, D-in-law and baby grandson stayed there the 2nd nite we were all camping at a campground nearby & they just could not sleep. This motel was 1/2 mile up the beach which was nice. It was a cute place, overlooking the ocean. My other son & I walked up the beach to visit them briefly and another member of the family came and watched a Ducks game w/ them too. That nite they came and spent most of the evening at the campsite w/ us and so they really did not spend much of the stay at the motel anyways. But we all decided to eat breakfast at the motel Sunday am and were all meeting there & it was cleared w/ the owner, altho she was not very friendly about it. The stove did not work either. ANYWAYS, she was soo rude then to some of us who walked up the beach (there was only (including the baby) 7 of us anyways and more or less ordered us to leave. We all went to the campsites and had a very nice breakfast there. NONE OF us were impressed w/ her rudeness and all. She tried to make it sound like it was a fire hazard. There was NO sign up saying only so many people could be in there and there were two doors to the outside (and windows) in the small place anyways. They also would chg u $25 extra if u used the woodstove which seemed outrageous. We were going to clean up, we were a quiet respectable bunch. SHe was just rude. I don't see how she stays in business.

Motel was adequate but had no amenities at all. You have to do your own cleaning before you leave and it has no maid service. Stairs are dangerous, mold on the windows, furniture is old, smelly and dirty. carpets need a good cleaning.

Only good part about it was that it is on the beach and pretty secluded.

We don't know why they call Terry-A-While a motel. It's so much more! It doesn't look like much from the front, but open the door and,as my 19 year-old put it, "WOW!". When you step into this amazing place you feel you have your own beach house. We stayed in unit 3 and it's all been beautifully remodeled. I don't know why they don't charge more. I was originally cautious because of the low rates. But I'm glad I went with my instincts. It's 5 or 6 minutes from a small town on each side, so it's kind of secluded. But we shared the beach with only a handful of people. We sat on the deck and watched the gray whales spout and roll in the waves. If we find ourselves on the Oregon coast again we will definitely stay at Terry-A-While.
