Let's put it this way :
* the office was dirty and smelly and the manager was very unkept having a tee
shirt covered with food and sweat
* the rugs were extremely old and soiled
* the lock on the bathroom window was broken
* paint was peeling in the bathroom leaving huge pieces hanging over the tub
* the shower curtain was stuck together with mold
* moldy grout around the tub was loose and falling apart
* the water reservoir in the coffee pot was very dirty
* the bed pillows were so old that they had lost their shape and were merely stuffed
into the pillow case in a big wad
The T.V., refrigerator and microwave were clean and worked well
I have notified friends and family never to stay at this motel.

The American Inn & Suites in Waldport, OR is only 1 of 2 hotels in Waldport. We've been traveling to Waldport for years and thought we'd give American Inn & Suites a try after reviewing their website announcing that they had remodeled the hotel. Upon arrival we were put in a room that was in no way remodeled. It had old blue carpet that was torn, mold on the ceiling in the bathroom with torn vinyl flooring, old green sink, toilet and tub. The wall paper was circa 1980's that was peeling along the edges. The door knob was barely functional to lock the door. We asked for another room and were given one of the remodeled rooms but had to ask.

The exterior of the hotel has certainly been updated with paint but there are only 5 rooms that have been remodeled and they're the only ones that are shown on their website. The remodeled rooms are ok but incomplete - missing baseboards, tile not grouted, light bulbs burned out, and new paint peeling away from mold stains, and no screens on the windows. The furniture appears to be updated along with new carpet.

A continental breakfast was advertised but when we went down to the office to partake on both days of our stay around 8 am, the office was closed and locked with no access to a "continental breakfast." When the office finally opened, they only offered a box of commercial donuts and coffee. Hardly a continental breakfast.

We were charged $75/night. This hotel is definitely not worth $75/night - not even the remodeled rooms. We will not stay here again and will not recommend it to anyone we know. It wasn't as advertised.

This is a very comfortable and economical place to stay. Very helpful and courteous staff, not to mention the convenience of close shopping, an abundance of a variety of shops and stores. The environment was very clean and relaxing. I would, and have, recommend this motel to anyone that wants a relaxing, clean, and recreational place to stay on the beautiful Oregon coast!

old, smelly, tired, HOT rooms, no fans,leaky faucets, flickering lights, peeling paint & wallpaper, insects, the works, mirrors look like they weren't touched, weird drip spots on most surfaces, "trash can" smell outside of our room, and the trash can, ugh! cigarette butts and trash litter the parking lot.
