Motel 6 Troutdale is a nice place to stay. The price was right. The staff were friendly and The room was clean. If I had to say something negative, it would be the freeway noise, but what are you going to do? Thank you Motel 6 for leaving the light on for us!

Didn't expect much for the cheap rate on a room with 2 double beds, but even this was a disappointment. Luckily, this was just a quick stop on the way to where we were vacationing. After checking in (before getting to the room), I told my husband that I hoped that the room wasn't as skanky as the girl at the front desk, who was talking to a patron about how she preferred to sleep with black men; the patron countered with how she lost a filling months ago and enjoyed getting prescription drugs from friends. That jinxed us.
Cramped space: One bed was against the wall directly under the window, the other was against the bathroom wall- with about 3 feet between. My husband slept in the bed by the window by himself; I slept in the other with our young daughter. Everything looked disgusting- but the bathroom was probably the cleanest part with its oddly-arranged spaceship-like corner stall with the showerhead that came out of the ceiling next to the track for the shower curtain, and aimed at the corner. My daughter complained about how "rough and scratchy" the wash cloths were. She was right. Not enough towels for 2 ppl, let alone 3. Looked like lots of ppl actually lived in this motel. We stripped the beds of the frightening bedspreads as soon as we came in. I used to work in housekeeping, so I know these things don't get washed every stay. I'd be mortified to take a blacklight inside the room. The door did not close on its own- we had to insert the key card to get the deadbolt to retract, so the door could close. Huge gap above the door that allowed daylight in; the door was actually falling off the hinges.
We didn't sleep well at all. If I had to do it over again, I'd sleep in my car.

My mother and I checked into this hotel. While walking to our room we saw obvious drug and prostitution activity going on. People were living in the bushes adjacent to yhe parking lot. We get to our room and it stunk and there were burnholes all through the carpet. What a dive!! My mother decided she didn't feel safe there so we checked out(at least they gave us our money back).

PROS:

Excellent location for touring Columbia River Gorge. Also, a good outlet mall is very close, as well as restaurants and a gas station.

Room and bathroom were clean.

Reception staff friendly.

Extremely cheap price.


CONS:

A lot of noise throughout the night from the nearby highway and trains.

When I took the shower, there was no hot water while my friend took a shower in the room right below mine, and I had to wait till she was done to get more warm water.



So, if you are a good sleaper and want value your money, this might be your place. For a light sleeper I recommend to stay elsewhere.
