we stayed in the king family suite. a king bed separated by a partial wall from two twin beds. worked good for a family.........me and my wife slept in king; kids got their own beds. Nice after a long, long drive. Positives: large room,good internet, comfortable beds, good shower, warm jacuzzi tub, decent breakfast, quiet room. Negatives: room air /heater unit is beside the "kids " beds. The room was essentially the size of two rooms but no a/c on our side. Had to freeze the one side out to cool the second side. not adequate for the size of room. fridge did not work. carpet was stained. Bathroom walls and door were not very clean in room 411. Rate of about 125 a night in March seemed high for a hiway motor inn.

I always love a HIE! As expected, the bedding was especially nice and clean. The mattress was a little bouncy tho. No real complaints about anything, however. The manager checked me in when I arrived and was very friendly. And they had fresh baked cookies and clam chowder in the lobby in the early evening!

The location is very convenient, just 10 miles from the airport and right off I84. It would be an excellent place to stay if you are planning on touring the Columbia River Gorge.

We wanted to be close to Portland and the Gorge area, and this hotel was a good choice, being in the middle of the 2 areas. The highs: clean place, friendly front desk staff, great continental breakfast, decent value. The lows: our room lacked working light bulbs, kind of a busy, noisy place, navigating the streets around the hotel can be maddening if you're not used to the area.

This seems to be a popular hotel judging by the many people staying there. It is conveniently located and has a nice outlet mall nearby. Some restaurants in the area but not a whole lot, you can walk across the parking lot to Wendy's. Great breakfast in the morning with a nice area to sit and eat. Despite these positive points, I would never stay at this hotel again mainly because the whole third floor, including our room, smelled like a wet dog. I have allergies (as I noted when I made the reservation) but maybe all the two bedroom suites are on the smelly third floor. I had to open the windows in the room and sleep with them open to freshen the air even though it is right near a busy freeway. The carpet didn't look clean, the bathtub had a layer of soap scum, peeling wallpaer, and the sink had a brown ring stained around the drain. We saw at least three dogs exiting room on our floor so it is a good place for people with pets but not for those with allergies. Also, be aware that the two-bedroom suite is studio style and is basically one big room.
