For $34 per night you don't expect to get good hotel room but we were pleasantly surprised when we did!!
I've been frequenting this hotel annually since 2002. And this year alone I've stayed here 8 times.
It's not a 4 star, not even 3 star hotel! However, this hotel is a decent one for the price. I would put it up against any 2 or 21/2 star hotel like.... Ramada, Days Inn, LaQuinta etc. any day of the week!!!
When you enter your not only greeted by staff but a couple very friendly kitties.
Everything was clean, neat & orderly
Their continental breakfast was fantastic and yummy!!.
And with Wal Mart directly across the street it gives you a safe place to hang and shop if you have insomnia cuz it's open 24hrs. You can even walk there. It's nice to be able to have somewhere safe to shop till your little brain will go sleepies.
I've never had any billing problems and have maybe encountered a couple over tired unfriendly employees at times but nothing to get bent about.
In close I highly recommend this hotel to those who are searching for somewhere to stay on a small budget. I'M SURE THAT FIRST THOUGHTS OF WHERE YOU'LL BE STAYING AT WHEN PAYING ONLY $34 PER NIGHT CAN BE QUITE FRIGHTENING.....AND THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT SKETCHY PEOPLE HANGING OUT AND BILLING ISSUES PLEASE TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT EVERY BUSINESS ISN'T PERFECT AND EVERY TOWN IN EVERY STATE HAS RIF RAF TO CONTEND WITH AND QUITE FRANKLY I THINK THE TRAVELODGE TROUTDALE IS DOING A FINE JOB MANAGING NOT ONLY THEIR PROPERTY BUT THE COMMUNITY ISSUES THAT SURROUND THEM.

I booked two 12/11 weekend nights using my EB discount. The price was $34 a night plus, which was an incredible value. The hotel is located just off I-84, about 10 minutes from the airport in an industrial area, near a Wal-Mart, gas stations and fast food restaurants. There are lots more stores, etc, about a mile away.

It had the POTENTIAL to be bad but my experience was great. Staff was fairly friendly. The room was small and older but immaculately clean - REALLY - and everything worked perfectly. TV was older but worked great and offered lots of channels. Bed was so-so as they often are in no-frills places. Wi-Fi was good and free. The room had a hair dryer, coffee maker, clock/radio, fridge and microwave. Breakfast was waffles, bread for toast, cereal, oatmeal, coffee/tea and OJ. The grounds were pleasant too.

On the downside, there were one of two minor things I noticed. The one seat cushion had a small hole in it and I was surprised they had no shampoo. Hallways were smoky but my room was NOT. Aside from that, the place was great. I definitely would stay there again and would have no reservations about staying there with the kids, etc.

Again, if you expected the Hyatt, don't review this hotel and say it's a seedy, dangerous prison. It is what it is.....

The only good thing was the price. Rooms were not clean at all. Filthy carpet and chairs, we left the clothes in our baggage. It smelled weird until we turned up the A/C and left for a while to do little shopping across the street at walmart.

The back parking alley is very dark and some sketchy people were hanging around.

We prepaid for our room on Travelocity and were charged again at the front desk. I noticed the double charge on our credit card statement. I called Travelocity first to ask for a credit. They said the quickest way to resolve it would be to talk to the hotel. I called the hotel and the clerk could not fix the problem after having me on the phone for about 15 minutes and asking me what the check in and check out date was 4 times. He said I needed to talk to the bookkeeper who would be in the next morning after 10 am. I gave my number for the bookkeeper to call me back. They never called so I called the next day. The bookkeeper had already left. The clerk said to try again the following day after 10 am. I called the following day at 10:15 and the bookkeeper had already left again. I asked if anybody else at the front desk could give me a credit. The clerk said "no". This hotel is run by people who don't care and will not make any attempt to help.
Also, our room had a shower that didn't work. The cheap price of this hotel is not worth the trouble!
