My wife and I and our two small dogs visited Cape Lookout for a few days this December. We decided to stay at Cape Lookout BnB, and we are so pleased that we did.
Katie and Jim are a lovely couple and we found them to be very warm, generous and welcoming hosts. Katie's attention to detail permeates every corner of their beautiful home. The breakfasts were very elaborate and absolutely delicious-check out the photos of Egg Benedict (yes they were perfectly cooked) with local smoked ham, grilled tomato, home grown chard with Hollandaise sauce,served with potatoes. Jim is an excellent chef and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner he made for us on one of the two nights that we spent there. Katie gives Jim stiff competition with all the homemade cookies, muffins, zucchini bread and even some home baked dog treats! She made us an excellent breakfast on day one with Banana waffles and bacon, and a whole load of other baked goodies. My wife insists I also mention the great coffee she served.
Their recommendations were spot on - whether it was eating out or places to see. It rained almost the entire time we were there (we timed our visit with a storm- or maybe it was the other way around) and we still enjoyed ourselves, and found their recommendations for sight seeing invaluable.
We will definitely be back and would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting this part of the Oregon coast.
