We were having a wonderful vacation at the peak of tourist season when we pulled into Tillimook Shilo Inn. (We had just had a very ,very positive stay for several nights at the Shilo Inn in Portland by the airport.) About 2 miles from town we needed to close our windows due to the extreame smell of cow doo. It only got stronger when we reached Tillamook. The locals are so used to it they had the front doors of the hotel wide open!!! We were stunned. The rooms although less oderferous were older and not as nice as Portland. There were a few things we had wanted to do in Tillimook like a really cool Air Museum but the smell the next day was just as bad and we got out as soon as possible.Sorry Tillamook.

Dear Cynthia07,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. You arrived on one of the days one of our local farmers was fertilizing their fields. Unfortunately that is an experience shared by all the motels in Tillamook. Fortunately it is not that frequent. It is unfortunate you were unable to enjoy the Air Museum as it is definitely worth a visit. I would hope if you are ever on the west coast again, you would give Tillamook another chance. It is a naturally beautiful area.
