We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. I realized that when I book for this stay that it was at the Holiday Inn across town and after calling the hotel that we were booked at and explaining that we wanted the one closer to the Hospital, they called this hotel to make sure that they had rooms available and then they called me back to let me know that they had made the connection for me and all I had to do was call. This hotel is 3 minutes from Riverbend Hospital. We were in a Dual Queen Suite with our 4 grandchildren while their Dad had surgery. The kids really loved the indoor pool. It was snowing, so this was a great time for the kids. And the kids loved the choices for breakfast, especially since they got to make their own pancakes. Every home needs one of those machines! The grandkids keep asking when we can go back. If we ever go back to that area, we will definately stay here again.

If you are travelling along the I-5, you cannot get a better location. Fuel, Starbucks, restaurants all in close proximity and you are literally 1 minute from the I-5 off-ramp. And if you're not too picky about the breakfast, this HI-Express will not disappoint overall. Relatively new, the rooms are in excellent condition with all the usual amenities you expect from this level of hotel. We didn't have time to use the pool or hot tub, but if the rest of the building is any indication, it will meet or exceed expectations. And just to be clear, my expectations include relative newness, cleanliness and value for money. On all accounts, this hotel meets those expectations.

Just out of interest, the reasons I have given it 4 stars, rather than 5, has more to do with the chain than this hotel in particular. Having stayed in a number of different hotel chains like this (Hampton, Homewood Suites, La Quinta, Days Inn, etc...) the breakfast the HI-Express provides is adequate, but not among the best (and it's the same at all of them - only exception so far was Heathrow Airport). It is, of course, complimentary. But Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites also provide complimentary breakfasts (and Homewood even modest dinners Mon-Thurs), and they are better. With 3 teenagers in our family, we are quick to hear about deficiencies in the breakfast, and HI-Express needs to improve on this front (in North America, at least). Otherwise, this hotel has an excellent location, and offers great value.

Good value for road trip stop. We check in at 10pm and the lady in front desk provide good service. Rooms are clean and Internet is excellent.

On a very cold evening we checked into Holiday Inn Express in Springfield (Eugene) Oregon
after having made the reservation just a few hours in advance. No problems with that at this
time of the year - no ball players in town. We got a roomy suite on the first floor which is
very convenient when travelling with two dogs. The staff were real nice and the dogs greeted
them with licks and wags and got gifts to take to the suite. The suite was clean and nicely
furnished with two queen beds, sitting area, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, extra
chairs and a small dining table for two and coffe and tea was at hand. We enjoyed the pleasant temperature while looking out at the bare and freezing landscape. The hotel has
a neat swimming pool, exercise equipment, computers, and a cozy breakfast area which
serves ample food till 10 in the morning. Having a meeting the next morning we needed a
good night's sleep and got one in very comfortable beds. We kept a window a bit open to get
air during the night and forgot we were in a city.
Dinner can be had at several restaurants within walking distance, like Shari's, Ihop, Hop-
Valley, which we prefer, but where you may expect quite a crowd. It might be an idea for
the hotel to have these restaurants' menues in the rooms, if possible. We had been at
Holiday Inn Express before, and will again. The price for the suite was 109 + 40 for two dogs,
and taxes. It was worth it for its convenient location to our meetup at the Armitage Dog
Park where we were to meet up with our dogs' litter mates for a fun time. Ah - there is
nothing like family of all kinds - and a warm and pleasant place to stay !
