The best part of staying at the Tides was that they let us check in early, we arrived at about 11am when check in is 3pm. Once we got up to the room we were looking forward to relaxing after our 4+ hour drive. My boyfriend grabbed some of the extra pillows, supplied in the closet, only to find that the pillow ceases were dirty, gross! On the second day after a long full day at the beach we came back to the room to find that it had not been cleaned. We didn't wake up till about 10am that morning and hadn't left the room till noon, but we did put the sign "maid please make up this room" on our door. So I figured maybe they hadn't gotten around to cleaning our room yet. I then called down to the front desk to see when we could get our room cleaned. When the women picked up the phone she proceeded to tell me that all of the maids have gone home for the day, then she asked me if we left the sing on our door for the maid to make up her room. Once i told he "'yes we did", she told me that i could i have thought i put it out on the door but i didn't. I was shocked to have her accuse me of lying. I was looking at the sign hanging on the outside of the door as we were speaking. At that point i handed the phone to my boyfriend, she again told him that we were mistaken that we never put "maid please make up this room" on our door, as her records showed that we didn't. Both my boyfriend and I couldn't believe that this women was accusing us of lying! I understand that mistake happen and that the maids might have read the sing wrong missed it all together but they way this women handled the situation was very uncalled for. You ever accuse a paying customer of lying. She should have simply apologized for not having the room made up or the miscommunication and brought up fresh towels, coffee, and taken out the garbage, instead of telling us that we never put the sign on our door for the maids. Needless to say we complained about this women then next day, only to find out she is the manager. This women was so rude she should not be working in customer service, but to be part of management at this establishment unbelievable. She alone is the reason why I would not go back or recommend The Tides to anyone!

We stayed over the 4th, my husband and I and his parents. We stayed two nights in a nice one bedroom/kitchenette. We slept on the couch that opens to a bed and my inlaws had the bedroom. My mother-in-law loved to sit on those two comfortable chairs by the window and look out at the sea. Oregon weather is soggy must of the time, so sitting inside looking out was perfect. The fireplace, jacuzzi tub and picture window made this a perfect choice.

We stayed in unit #155. Great modern deco with a nautical accent. The views were fantastic! The condo was clean but the couch and chair really have seen their day in the sun. Some loud creaks in floors probably from age of building& We could hear cabinets and doors closing from units on both sides. This wouldn't prevent us from staying again. There was a pool that looked nice but was full of little kids and that wasn't appealing to our teens. Right on the beach so access is as fast as you can walk and there were fire pits so we had a nice marshmallow roast!

I thought the ocean sound would drown out all others....but not the gymnists practicing their floor routine on the floor above us until 12am. The walls are thin, the building itself is shabby but the view is stellar! Our unit 150 had very poor lighting and a few burned out light bulbs to make matters worse. But the price was good and the view was unbeatable. I would probably come again and try another unit and bring earplugs!
