We came to Seaside for a weekend with a couple or our friends who picked this motel. This honestly is the dumpiest location I have ever stayed and we were in one of the nicer 2nd floor rooms. The pillows on the bed had blood and drool (or some other bodily liquid) crusted on them. When I called the front desk to ask for new pillows, they said they were out, seriously... When I told her the condition of the pillows and asked if we could at least have new pillow cases, she replied she "would do her best". Yep, so with that said the front desk attendants are ornery at best. Also, the free internet was intermittently working (mainly not working) and when we called the front desk to let them know, we got the same old gnarly attitude - no apologies offered, in fact she seemed bothered that I called. This establishment epitomizes the attitudes of small tourist town businesses who have a love-relation with their patrons. They need tourist to pay their bills, yet resent these very tourists at the same time. Ridiculous.

This place is fantastic, and I'm a little leery of recommending it because I want it to be available when I want to go! Location, literally, could not be more perfect. Seaside is adorable, the room we had was stellar, I couldn't have asked for more.

Not fancy but just right. Very comfortable and cozy. Kinda like staying at your aunts home on the beach. The staff was helpful and friendly. Loved watching the ocean. Wish there was a small balcony or patio, but all in all a nice getaway. Would love to go back.

We arrived at the motel - we were in 147 on ground floor. We noticed that the kitchen consisted of a one-piece sink/undercounter fridge/and 2 burners. This unit was very dated, the fridge had no shelves, the freezer was not properly working so everything froze (except the ice cream which was IN the freezer) and when you opened the fridge door, anything stored in the door fell out. The fridge had no light. The 2 burners were mis-labelled so F and R did not stand for Front and Read...the TV was elderly and the "easy chairs" were well past their best-by date. The toaster was broken and did not pop up at all - resulting in burned toast...I can attest to the fact that the smoke detector worked very well. When we advised the Front desk that the toaster was broken and dangerous, we were advised that "they couldn't just go out and BUY a new toaster - they had to go somewhere special" - I told them the toaster was a bottom of the line item and at least 10 years old. We waited 2 days for another toaster. There were no fire extinguishers in the rooms and only 2 outside on the deck wall (for 10 units). This was supposedly a no pet hotel but there were dogs everywhere and they were staying in the units.
As for the noise - this is a building that does not have any insulation (or inadequate insulation) between the first and second floors so we could hear EVERY footstep and EVERY piece of furniture being moved at 1230 in the morning. When we mentioned this, management said there were different people coming that night. There should be signs posted to advise people on the 2nd floor to exercise some consideration for the people on the floor below.. Also, people seemed to congregate outside our door to smoke and chat...the cigarette smoke came right in through the windows. This is a no-smoking hotel but ...or should I say butt...AND the FREE WIFI did not work.
I found management to be insensitive and unhelpful. The manager clearly belongs in another line of work...
