“Love the view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We have stayed at the Lanai three times now. We stay strictly for the view - therefore the very good rating. It is amazing seeing the surfers outside your window. I would love to redecorate some of the units to make them more appealing. Most need to be updated. Overall they are comfortable and clean. Rooms that allow pets have a pet smell to them which for a non-pet owner is a little disappointing when you walk into the room. It is a good walk to the prom and the main part of Seaside, but we are walkers and enjoy it. I wish the managers did not smoke. They smoke right outside the office and it smells when you walk by if they are out there, which is often. And, this is a non-smoking property which I find interesting. Again, without the view probably would go elsewhere, but it captures us each time. Update the units and you have a winner.

“Change in Management”

What happened? Manager changed. As we heard, she came from Extended Stay Hotels. She used a yellow highlighter to make it clear: No loud noises or TV after 10 PM or before 8AM. no pets, or a $250 penalty. No check-out before 8AM, no early check in before 3PM... And the list goes on.,

Totally disappointing for us. Last time we stayed here. Let's move on.

“Good view but bad place to stay - thief on property.”

Spent the Christmas hoiiday at the Lanai. On Christmas Eve went to dinner to return to a room with a Christmas pachage stolen. Could never stay at the Lanai again knowing a thief is waiting for us to leave so they can go into the room and take what they want. GDW Portland Or.

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Nice stay overall. The place could use a little updating inside but the location is in a nice quiet neighborhood and you are right on the beach. We were able to cook a meal (they charge extra for housekeeping to clean the dishes-a little cheesy-other places we stayed did the dishes and we left a nice tip) and do a bomb fire almost outside our door on a rocky beach 50 yards from the room. I did like the location and for the money it was a good deal. I would probably stay again but I do prefer a hot tub (none on property and outdoor pool was closed from OCt 1st onward) and some better updated facility. It was clean even though they allowed pets which caused a little bit of an order but not enough to complain about. It is non smoking which is good because I got the impression that many people that were staying there smoked. Stayed in room 25 which was simple and ok decor, but some of the rooms after viewing them are pretty bad in the decor. If this place was updated and had a hot tub it would be a great place to stay. If that doesn't matter to you then you will love it.

Room Tip: Check out Cannon Beach close by-Neat little town-and go for a hike in Ecola Park and visit the Tilla...
