“Amazing Magical Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

We stayed in a jacuzzi suite with a balcony overlooking the river. It was a beautiful room, with coffee maker, microwave, fridge, and flat screen TV. Marble counter tops, beautiful in room lighting and gas fireplace created amazing ambiance. Jacuzzi was the perfect size for two people with excellent jets and it filled quickly. Huge windows near the jacuzzi provided for a beautiful romantic view, but still allowed for privacy.

The bed was extremely comfortable and luxurious with a perfect amount of plush pillows. The bathroom and shower area very clean and spacious. The balcony overlooked the Necanicum River and the boardwalk, and had great privacy.

The hotel staff was excellent, provided a warm welcome, and friendly service. The hotel Manager Cherise was awesome, asked us about our stay, and seemed genuinely interested in our response. She recommended some good local attractions and then provided us with great directions and information about the area. With management like this, it is no wonder why this hotel is so wonderful!

The indoor pool and hot tub are open 24 hours and have a great setting.

This hotel was amazing and the highlight of our trip. We recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great room with a great view and a reasonable price!!

“Pretty river view, gas fireplace, comfortable beds, great location.”

Nice room with gas fireplace, microwave, frig.........no utensils, however. Right in the middle of town, within walking distance to everything. The ocean is about 3 blocks away. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Only order the fireplace room, if you think, you will use it, about $15 more per night.

“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We generally stay in Comfort inns and this was better than most. Breakfast had a lot of variety including hot sausage and eggs. When we arrived my husband commented there were no free oatmeal cookies. The gal at the front desk said come back in 30 minutes. We came back and there were fresh baked oatmeal cookies. As previously mentioned the wireless internet is very slow. My husband needed to log into his work on his laptop and he was extremely frustrated by the speed.

“Good overnight stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Stayed here for one night in king bed river view room.
Good sized clean room with microwave & fridge, also had a small balcony which looked out onto the river, there were 2 plastic chairs to sit on - but they were very dirty...so didn't bother.
Thought the TV was quite small and rather old fashioned when compared to other motels we had stayed in during our trip.
Internet was ok although alittle slow at times.
Bed was comfortable.
Good selection on offer for breakfast.

“Convenient Seaside hotel, needs some TLC”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We have stayed at this hotel MANY times and have always loved it, but this time we were a little let down. A few years back they did a total remodel of the hotel and updated everything inside and out. It was a sparkling clean, modern "new" hotel. But, just in a few short years it has really taken some wear and tear...most noticable in the very dirty carpets throughout. We stayed over one of the coast's warmest weekends of summer 2011...it got into the upper 80's. Our room was hot and muggy, so we turned on the A/C. The unit ran all day and all night long and it never cooled our room down. We asked about it at the front desk the next morning...just as the mainenance man walked by. He informed us that the A/C unit had been broken for some time and that he was still waiting for parts. They knew our unit didn't work, yet we weren't informed of this upon check-in. They did offer us either a portable fan or a $25 credit. We took the credit and then slept with the balcony door open the next two nights. But, since the outside balcony lights are always on and there is no way of turning them off (no switch), our room was lit up more than we would have liked. The bedding in our room was questionably clean...the bed skirts had both been spilled on (possibly coffee or juice by the color) and one of them was actually moldy! The flat sheets and pillow cases seemed clean, but we questioned whether the blankets on the beds get washed between guests. We asked for clean bedding one day during our stay and the same blanket was put back on the bed (I had marked the tag with a pen so I could check). The blankets are sandwiched between two of the clean flat sheets, so maybe they figure they don't need changed very often? Our bathroom / vanity area was not very clean at all. The room had a coffee pot / mugs, etc. on a tray on the counter by the sink...right next to the sink...which is kind of yucky if you consider what all goes on at a sink (shaving, brushing teeth, washing dirty hands...). I moved the tray so that we had some bathroom counter space and it was obvious that the tray hadn't been moved and cleaned under or behind in a very long time! The amount of dirt, dust, and hair was disturbing. Since I had antibacterial hand wipes with me, I wiped down the entire counter / sink area and was even more disturbed at how filthy the white wipes became upon wiping. I even had to clean built-up "sludge" off the faucet handle. I deliberately left make-up smears on the mirror and counter to test housekeeping and the smears remained in place the entire three night stay of our trip! They restocked our room (towels and soap) and made up the beds daily, but that is all they did. Nothing was ever wiped down or mopped up. The drain plug in our shower was unscrewed and lying in the middle of the tub when we checked in. When I went to replace it I was greeted with a drain full of nasty slimy hair. I feel horrible having to report all of these unclean discoveries because this really could be a super nice hotel again if they gave a little more attention to detail when it comes to cleaning. The positives are many however! The pool area is great...the sauna is a perfect dry heat, the hot tub is hot and relaxing, the pool is warm enough to actually enjoy. The breakfast is more than most hotels offer...everything from healthy yogurt, toast, and cereal to the more indulgent biscuits and gravy or waffles. The location of the hotel makes it the perfect base camp for a Seaside vacation. Located right on the main drag it's easy to duck in and out of the hotel to change clothes or drop off souvenirs. And it's only a few short blocks to the beach from the hotel. The river is a peaceful view from the rooms too. A deep down clean and then upkeeping that clean would put this hotel back up at the top of our list.
