I stayed here for business when I was in Salem, and it was a good value only about $50. The hotel was a bit older, but the room was clean and its very close to food. I was able to walk to the Carls Jr or Popeyes which were only about 2 blocks away. The tv had a good amount of channels, as it had a Direct TV Cable box. The shower was a bit older, but it did the job. The breakfast area was small and didn't have that many choices, but it had some OJ and some coffee which worked out good. Overall a pretty good place, I would stay here again.

I stayed here in early August. After a whole day's driving, I was tired and decided to stop in Salem to stay for one night. The price of hotels in Salem/Albany area seems more expensive than I expected, so I used the coupon from a hotel coupon book, which you can usually find in MacDonald's or Danny's.

Howard Johnson is just like a a little better version of "Motel 6" or "Super 8". You get what you pay, so don't expect much. At least, it's safe to stay here for one night.

We stayed here in mid October. We have stayed at this inn many times over the past four years as our daughter was attending college in Salem. The rooms are always clean. The hotel staff is friendly. The breakfast buffet has a waffle machine, bananas, coffee, juice, milk, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, bagels and a toaster. It is adequate and always stocked. The inn is close to convenience stores, fast food places and not very far from the freeway.

Our room was very large but the decor was extremely dated, as were the beds. The walls were thin, and it was hard to get a decent night's sleep, since we could hear everything. The room was clean. Breakfast was nothing special but decent enough. If you have electronics that need charging, good luck finding enough outlets.
