My husband and I (age 53 and 63 but definately not old [-]) chose to stay here as the Salem Convention Center is connected. It was the perfect choice. Beautiful, clean and classy from the lobby to our room, we loved almost everything about our 2 night stay.
Check in was a breeze, fast, friendly and efficient. The parking garage below is free however the spots are small if you have a large vehicle. You go up one elevator to the main lobby then a short walk to the hotel elevators gets you to your room. Not at all difficult or complicated.
The room was nice sized, great tv, great bed, couch, FREE wi-fi, good heating/cooling, great sheets and pillows. The bathroom is not huge but works just fine with upscale soap slabs from the store down the block. The hairdryers are 1600 but a tad wimpy. There is no ventilation in the bathroom so it fogs up. The plumbing pipes are a tad noisy from the upstairs people but not Bates Motel noisy.
These points on the bathroom makes my review a 98 instead of a 100 percent approval. Next time we will stay on the top floor and let our water go down the pipes to the floors below.
Breakfast in the morning is in a large room next to the Bentley Grill (we didnt try the grill but others in the elevators and in the conference had and were favorable.). While not extravagant nor on the par with Embassy Suites, there were hot scrambled eggs, sausage links and hot waffles along with the normal oatmeal, breads and fruit. We didnt go hungry. The coffee was spectacular.
Lovely hotel. Price for us was $117 which we felt was fair for the property. Would definitely stay there again.
