I stayed for one night on the second floor. Hotel clerk was very friendly. I was surprised that this hotel was only inside rooms and not "bungalow" style as other RI's. Noise was significant issue here.

Nice flat screen TV
Not Good:
Noise was way beyond reasonable. Very poor construction. I could hear other guests and their doors slamming several doors from my own room and on the floor above me. Not Marriott standard at all. Does not compare to other RI's I've stayed at
Cheap mattress (I enjoyed a reasonable rest during my stay, but only because mattress was relatively new still - bed did not compare well to other RI's)

My company has used the Salem Residence Inn when ever we have projects in the valley. It continues to exceed expectations in service, comfort, cleanliness, and food service. We once used it for six months three two bedroom units and every member of the crew was sad to leave!

First time staying here. The room was average, but good price for a 2 bed/2bath suite. We are a family of 5, so I liked the livingroom and the 3 tv's. The suite could be cleaned much much better. The fan in one of the bathrooms was hanging off the ceiling. The toilet handle had to be held down to flush completely. In Salem this is the best option until a new hotel is built.

We have stayed at the hotel before and it was fine. This time there were only 2 rooms left and it was on the end of the building. We were right next to Interstate 5 and it felt like you were sitting in the middle of the road. Very loud. We left the fan on all night to try to drown out the noise. I'm only giving a low rating because of this. If you get a room in the middle of the building there's no problem. Just make sure you ask where the room is. Paying $129 for a room and getting no sleep is not cool. After all the taxes it was up to $142.
