Booked four nights due to travel schedule and because of changes, made it to Salem two days early. Checked in and specifically told clerk that we need a room that we could stay in for the six straight days and were told No problem. Next morning, explained situation to different clerk and also told, No problem. On the morning of our original arrival, we were told that it would be a problem and we would have to move rooms. Since we travel 140+ nights/ year and were staying for multiple days, EVERYTHING was brought in, including large suitcase, small suitcase, computer bag, "catchall" bag, bathroom bag - you get the idea, we have alot of stuff and packing it all up to move is a pain. Had clerk #1 done their job correctly and show good customer service, there would not have been any issues. Since we had to pack anyways, we packed our stuff right out of this hotel and had to book a room 20 min out of town as we were working the Oregon State Fair and had rooms booked months in advance so getting a room close was out of the question.
What made it easier to leave was on the backside of the hotel is a major road with major road noise. Not across a parking lot but only a sidewalk between the hotel and the 4 lane street.
Guess being a Diamond Choice Rewards member must not matter. Wish I had an experience like others who rated this hotel so highly.
