We saw an ad in a travel brochure listing it as a "new" hotel, but it sure didn't appear so. It was filthy. The shower/toilet room had hair stuck on walls, in the shower, and below the toilet on the floor. The caulking inside and outside of the shower was coming loose. The can light above the shower had a half dozen dead flies in it. The floors in the main room were in desperate need of a good vacuuming. The shelf above the clothes hangers had a thick layer of dust on it. The switchplate covers in the bathroom had a brown sticky substance on them. The Continental breakfast was much to be desired. It was hard to enjoy what was there through the filthy floor and food remnants on the counter where the food was. A little sweeping and picking up would do wonders here. Let's move outside. The lobby entrance looked to not have been swept thoroughly in months. The outside trash can had sticky residue on the flapper where you put the trash into it. Not just a little from the last few days---many days' accumulation! The stucco outside had mold in the corners near the entrance. This is what seems to contradict the "newness" of the facility. A wrinkled sign in the upstairs hall read, "Thank you for no smokeing in the lobby". Now that I'm done listing problems I'll list a possible solution: get more workers. We saw only the one individual working the front desk the whole time we were there. The same person picked up the Continental breakfast items. I am beginning to wonder if she too had to clean the rooms in her spare time. Avoid this one like the plague!
