We stayed 2 nights in January. Very comfortable and clean. Nothing fancy, but we came for the ocean, not the hotel. 7 miles of beach right at your feet, dog friendly, gas fireplace and a kitchen. Reasonably priced. We like Rockaway because there isn't much there; peace and quiet and the beach.

We stayed here a few years ago but always in the summer...In the winter the rooms are drafty...Only a small wall heater under the window...The bathroom has a window so very drafty and like sitting in an outhouse. Need to have a GOOD heat lamp in there or add a heater. It would of been nice to have the heat turned on prior to our arrival on a cold December night! The bed was cold so felt damp..The mattresses are past their lifetime and need to be replaced..There was no Alarm Clock...The Ocean View is awesome and the reasonable rates are appreciated but please update!!!!

We had a very pleasant room with a great ocean view, plenty of room for a kitchen area, dining table and a fireplace. One minor complaint was the lack of pots, pans and utensils, which rendered the kitchen mostly useless for long-distance travelers. We didn't try the pool facilities due to a tight schedule and bad weather, but the beach access was great.
Unfortunately, our 2-night visit was virtually spoiled by a lack of sleep due to the most uncomfortable bed we've ever encountered. It was literally rock hard and just lumpy enough to add a few extra pressure points. I took the cushions off of the little sofa and slept on the floor the first night, leaving the bed to my wife. We asked for extra pillows the second night, which helped a little, but not enough. We were in town for a busy meeting, and we had paid up front, so we elected to tough it out rather than trying to find an alternative.

We have stayed at quite a few hotel/motels and vacation rentals on the Oregon Coast and this one gives a little more for the price than others of it's type. Be sure and check their web-site for their 20% off coupon! The 1 Q room with a fully stocked kitchen and a large bathroom was very clean, maybe a little beat-up but not wore-out...The man at the desk was quick and efficient, also had Halloween candy for us:0).On the beach oceanfront with the private deck was perfect. There is a pool but as our reason for being there was to use it as a base for hiking the trails we didn't have the time to enjoy it...Oh and I cant' forget the gas fireplace; perfect after being out all day!
