“You gotta stay at Loon Lake!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

A beautiful location...trees, mountains, lake, river and only a few miles from the Oregon Coast at Reedsport. Adult daughter stayed in the motel...liked her room! Wife and I stayed in our travel trailer, lakefront at Loon Lake with full hookup. It was a great experience. Personnel were all friendly and helpful...the Lodge and store are well stocked with what you need...the restaurant had good, well prepared basic food choices and great desserts. We rented a pontoon boat to tour the lake and it is a beautiful place to cruise whether water skiing, fishing, jet skiing, etc! Everything went well and we will definitely return...many times!
A really great time and priced right!

“WON'T RETURN TO LOON LAKE”

We stayed the weekend at Loon lake and AND WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS CAMPSITE AGAIN, The camp sites are very small, and uneven, and you have no privacy at all, you literally are able to touch the tent of the person staying in the campsite next to you.....there was also several different kinds of animal feces in our capm area.
The bathrooms were nasty, THERE WERE FOUR IN OUR AREA AND THEY NOT ONLY WERE FILTHY AND SMELLED BAD, SO BAD WE HAD TO HOLD OUR BREATH TO USE THEM, OR COVER OUR FACE WITH SOMETHING THE KIDS REFUSED TO EVEN GO INSIDE THEM AND ENDED UP USING A BUSH (VERY SAD) TWO OUT OF THE FOUR BATHROOMS RAN OUT OF TP ON THE FRIDAY NIGHT WE ARRIVED AND ON SUNDAY WHEN WE LEFT HAD NOT BEEN RESTOCKED ( we left early) and the shower area was so far away from the whole camp area that you had to drive to it, we were not informed of that, and it was a question that was asked of staff, we were also told that they had flushing toilets not outhouses .
This weekend was supposed to be a fun relaxing family outing, but it turned out the camp area was a loud adult all night party area, many other campers could not sleep as well, THE NOISE WAS ALMOST UNBEARABLE( worst camp spot ever, ...Im home now and feel unrested and upset over all this, as do the kids!!
very dissapointing experience!
The only plus was that the lake had boat rentals, and the lake was fun and beautiful.

“Excellent place to get away from it all!!”

Loon Lake Lodge is a beautiful little lake about an hour and a half east of Eugene. We flew in from San Diego to Portland then on to Eugene. Our plans were to stay 4 days in Loon Lake then fly back to Portland to spend a couple days with family. It's a beautiful drive from the Eugene airport to Loon Lake. We stopped by Costco and bought food for the trip then drove the hour to Loon Lake through the Umpqua Valley.
Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised to see a dear right at the lodge area that would actually eat oats right out of your hand!
I came here with a group of about 10 people including 4 children for a summer vacation. First night my girlfriend and I stayed in the "motel" section of the resort which was a nice room with DTV, fridge, coffee maker, king sized comfy bed and a great view of the lake from the outside deck. I would just suggest to the staff maybe adding some pictures as the room is a little bare. The next 3 nights we stayed in a cozy little cabin by the r.v. and marina area. The cabin was nice with a.c., heat, a small stove, fridge and cable t.v. My biggest complaint would be that the bed was not as nice as the king size was in the "motel". The fishing was great and we caught probably over 20 fish, most of them were under 1 lb.! The lake was nice and warm and the weather was absolutely perfect! Jeff and the staff at the marina were very friendly and helpful and we all had a blast on the Sea-Doos, Pontoon boat and house boats that we rented at a very affordable price. Definitely the place to stay for a great get-away and to enjoy good fishing, boating and hiking!!

“It was clean, quiet and nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

Went for a family campout. Place was smaller than I thought it would be. And the "Lodge" rooms looked simular to the motel in Psycho. We stayed in a camper and the rest of family was in "lodge". It did seem like we were being "watched" during our trip since we were almost the only ones there.

“Just missed the mark”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

My family and I stayed here for two days and was not overly impressed. The website is a bit misleading when it comes to staying in the rv sites and the recreational area but wasn't that big of a deal for us. The restroom and shower facilities were acceptable and the laundry facilities was a plus. The little sandy beach next to the rv sites made it nice for the kids but the actual sites left something to be desired.

My biggest complaint... they charged us extra for having 4 kids and going over the 5 person max. Don't penalize Americans with large families. I'd understand if two families went over the 5 person max but not 1 family.
