“Great place to stay, but ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012 via mobile

I came back to this property after about 2.5 years just to find it fully renovated with the nice modern decor, updated interiors throughout and very friendly staff. Overall a very nice Westin that would have gotten a perfect 5, if not for visible Mold outbreak in the bathroom. The kind that you can not miss if you clean the shower which begs the question what else are they missing. I have a photo too.

“Great hotel and location. Bar could be more in keeping with the city though.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I tend to book Westin Hotels as they are very consistent in their quality, cleanliness and facilities. The Westin Portland was exactly as expected. The staff were very friendly and helpful along with the eager valet team.

My corner room was well appointed and the views were great too.

The location is superb for central Portland and walking distance from anything you would need to do.

All in all I will be staying here again.

Room Tip: Go for the corner rooms

“All the Westin Perks with Superior Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My husband and I visit Portland every few months. We've stayed at a few different hotels in Portland and I can now say the Westin ranks as one of the best.

Here you get all the perks of the Westin properties: cloud type bed and the massaging shower with amazing water pressure. It appeared this property was recently renovated because everything was fresh and new - the carpets, the furniture, the bed, the bathroom.

The Service: As far as hotels go, the Westin had great and friendly service. Everyone was all smiles - from the bellhop, to the concierge to the maids. Everyone seemed to go out of their way to help us, but not in that pushy way. We were traveling with a dog, and the bellhop was kind enough to set up my dog's crate for me. I really enjoyed the service and staff here.

The Location: We've stayed at many places downtown. This is near the shopping areas which is nice if you are looking to take advantage of the no tax shopping. It's walkable to the Pearl district, but there are a few places that are closer to that area if you think you will spend more time up there.

Overall, this is a great option to stay at, especially if you are a Starwood member!

“Standard Westin Quality Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

This hotel is like many of the other Westin hotels around the US: clean, comfy, and quiet. This particular hotel is located right in the middle of downtown Portland so it is great if you want to eat at restaurants, check out the local night life, or just walk around downtown. Parking is somewhat expensive at the hotel. Also, the hotel lobby seems pretty small.

Room Tip: If you want to avoid traffic noise, the higher the room the better. There aren't really any mus...

“Always a solid choice.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I stay here for business mostly. Hotel has been undergoing renovations and it's almost (the gym still being worked on) all done. Rooms are nice and quiet. Lobby and bar are brand new. Location in downtown is prefect. If you are looking for views out the window of your room you will not get many of them. If you have AT&T wireless you will have data and reception issues as well. If you are going for vacation you will be within walking distance of everything and the Max light rail is right around the corner plus a ton of shopping.
