Relatively inexpensive, especially if you book thru their own site (you'll pay at least $10 more per night if you pull in without a reservation or pre-paid).
Very close to airport, easy to find.
Room (1 queen bed) was plenty spacious for 1 person; 2 would also fit comfortably.
Lots of flat surfaces for storing your stuff - desk, suitcase platform, separate suitcase rack, space above open closet, small table w/ 2 chairs. 3-drawer dresser.
Bathroom was clean enough - not spic-n-span but it was acceptable, no mold or nastiness, just a little dust in the corners etc. Shower was nice & strong.
Room A/C and heat worked great. Window opens for fresh air.
I requested, and received, a smoking room (one of the last places in Portland OR to have them, that isn't a total hole), and it wasn't all beat up like they normally are.
No frills - only "extras" were 2 soaps and a shampoo, a coffee maker with 2 kinds of coffee and 2 kinds of tea, and in-room safe. Note that if you use the safe, they will charge you, but the charge isoptional and you can have it removed from your bill upon check-out.
Not sure why they do this - maybe hoping some folks won't notice.
There is ice & vending on the 2nd floor (chips and junk food, andsodas for $2 each - bring your own if you need those 2 diet coke's in the morning).
Also have coin-op laundry on-site.
Parking was plentiful and mostly well-lit, though there are some dark corners.
No mini-fridge; would be great if they had them.
No elevator - if you have bad knees etc request a 1st-floor room.
Room was quiet - I could hear my neighbor's TV from the hallway but once I got in the room I couldn't hear it any longer.
Free WiFi was speedy and signal strength was good, and I was on the 3rd (top) floor near the end. Only issue was trying to get it to connect via Firefox...waiting...waiting...finally tried MSIE and it fired right up.
Also note that some ISP's will bounce emails back when sent from here - they don't have some sort of certificate, so I ended up having to use my gmail account to send personal emails.
It appears that they only give you until midnight the following day for access (when I logged in it said I had access until 23:59:59 the next day) - not sure if that holds true, for anyone staying longer than 1 day.
For dining, you can try the restaurants in the nearby hotels, or at the airport (which is surprisingly reasonable - not much more expensive than usual)...or the Shari's across the street. If you've never been to a Shari's, it's like Denny's but the food is better and they are pretty well known for their pies. Open 24 hours, and even though it's more or less right across the street you really should not walk there. They also have free WiFi, and you can play Keno while you're there.
If you need misc & sundry items, there are no mini-marts nearby that I could find except after a lot of scouting - ask at the front desk.
They have some sort of breakfast in the mornings but I did not take advantage; coffee & tea are available in the same room 24 hours a day.
I stayed here because I was in the midst of moving cross-country; needed a place to stay near my old house for a couple nights before I shoved off that had WiFi, smoking rooms, and near interstates...and at a reasonable price. This fit the bill for me.
