My wife had a conference at this hotel so I tagged along. It was difficult to find because of the road names. Even the Garmin was lost. Well we drove past it for about 8 miles and tuned around. On the way back passed it again,"Frustrating" well finally we managed to get down on the waterfront and pulled up. Paid parking only or valet....uggg. Well the desk folks were really nice let us check in at 9am (sweet). The room was comfortable and clean. The beds rate a 10 out of 10 for comfort. The complimentry soaps were exceptional (I know its weird to notice but I really liked them) All the staff was exceptional and helpful. In the evening fresh homemade cookies at the front desk and 24 hour ice lemon water.

The RiverPlace is by far my favorite hotel, and one of the best is the Pacific Northwest. The river setting cannot be beat, the rooms are spotless, the staff will treat you like family (the family members that like you that is) and you can't go wrong with the food in the restaurant. As a frequent traveller, I often have difficulty sleeping in different hotels, except for the RiverPlace. The beds are down right cozy and I find myself refreshed after every night. Five stars all the way in my opinion.

We (with our dog Heidi) stayed at the hotel Jan. 8, 9, and 10. The staff were friendly and helpful but not annoying...when we were trying to decide what to bring to the room, the valet staff left us while we sorted out our belongings. We were so grateful when the front desk staff said that if we did not want to leave Heidi in the room, they would be happy to look after her at the front desk. We spent the whole day shopping and I understand Heidi followed Erin around while she looked after other hotel guests. There was another dog "Happy" who also seemed to be very comfortable with all the attention. The hotel was comfortable, relaxed, quiet, clean and the food much better than we expected. We can't say enough good things about our stay..we only wish that Portland was closer to Victoria...it is a long 6 hour drive.

This was our first stay at this property and our first visit to Portland. We were delighted with the facility, location and the hotel staff. Great location, close to downtown and walking paths nearby. This is a true gem and would not hesitate to return on our next visit to Portland.
