I enjoyed my weekend here. I really felt like I was just spending the weekend at a friend's house. It felt just like a "home" - not a hotel. My room had no bathroom (it was down the hall) but the attached balcony/terrace made up for it. Maybe next time I would choose the room with the bathroom, though. The owners were lovely, friendly, helpful and gracious. My daughter, who lives nearby in Portland, joined me for breakfast and they kindly included her. Breakfast was not over-the-top or fancy but it was just fine to start the day. Good Portland coffee!

The Georgian House is a wonderful choice for staying in the historic Irvington area of NE Portland. It is located in a quiet and beautiful tree lined neighborhood. Yet the downtown areas of Portland and other local sights are easily accessible. There is plenty of free, on-street parking. The Georgian House is beatifully maintained and our room and the common areas were immaculate. In the back there is a deck, gazebo and large garden. This is a peaceful place to relax. My wife and I enjoyed the generous breakfasts which always contained fresh fruit. After these meals we only needed a light snack for lunch. Best of all is Willie, the Innkeeper. She was amazingly hospitable, friendly and helpful. Willie has lived in the Portland area her entire life, and her knowledge of restaurants, activities, gardens, and day trips was substantial. She gave great suggestions when requested, and provided alternatives so that we could choose what best fit our mood. We were impressed by Willie starting with our first call requesting information.

I couldn't have chosen a more beautiful place to stay in Portland, Oregon. I was visiting my 26 year old son, and wanted him to be able to stay with me if he wanted. The house is in the NE historic neighborhood section of Portland. Every morning I would get up and take a walk through the neighborhood, and I would be amazed at all the beautiul, diverse homes in the area. Our host, Willie was a delight. My son and I were on a gluten-free diet, and she went out of her way to make a different breakfast for us than the rest of the guests. We stayed in the East Lake Room. It was beautiful. It had lovely antiques and a private balcony to go out on. The weather didn't cooperate(typical Portand rain), but I was able to go out one afternoon and view Wilie's beautiful gardens. Willie had all sorts of nice touches for her guests. The house was full of beautiful antiques, and we spent some time in her glassed-in porch. Very nice when it is raining out. I can't think of a better place to stay, and I will return.

GREAT location with convenient free parking, walking distance to MAX, shopping and restaurants. Very traditional, beautifully decorated home with scrumptious, plentiful breakfasts and immaculately kept private and public spaces. We were too busy to check out the grounds/deck, but they looked lovely. Innkeeper is Portland native with helpful suggestions for ANY local activity. Very, very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again to experience a different room!!!
