For some reason Downtown was full, mid-week, Autumn (Fall) with nothing special going on so we were pleased to get a room. It was economical but not cheap - and, as I say, we needed a room. That's the end of the good news.
This DOES some to be run or sub-contracted by the University and I'd have to say the spirit of some enormous civil bureaucracy seems to inhabit the place. The front desk albeit friendly is seriously under-staffed. Perhaps if people had to sign fewer forms about not having pets etc things would be quicker.,
Check in seems slow and bureaucratic. Getting on to wireless internet is slow and - well - bureaucratic, Like it might be run by, say, a university.
Then there was the room that - by 4 pm had not been made up. and the electronic key that failed 3 times. Yes, it seems that cell phones can demagnetize them. NEWS FLASH: most people have a cell phone in their pocket these days - how about getting a system that - um - works?
Look, the whole place looks and smells of student digs. Go somewhere the customer's and not some administrator's requirements - are paramount,.
