“Awful!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Gross! My first impression was getting in an elevator that reeked of urine. When the doors opened to the lobby there were four women hanging around in 5in stilettos, crotch length mini dresses, and no stockings, in January. Their pimp sat perusing magazines. When checking in, the front desk person asked for a $20 deposit in case anything in the room burned?! The hotel management had a disclaimer saying that any lost or stolen property wasn't their responsibility. All the lock boxes were taken. The ceilings in this hotel are extremely low approx. 7ft. The sheets are ancient, although clean, dingy and yellow. Who knows what's on the bed spreads. It was loud all night with yelling and the train. As we checked out in the morning there was a woman checking in. The clerk asked, "what are you up too today?" She answered, "oh, just working, tee hee." WTF! Seriously, prostitution totally acceptable here? And the cleaning lady looked like a meth head. May be a draw for some but not for me.

Room Tip: Don't book here.

“I do not recommend this hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

I usually stay at hotels close to the center or close to a shopping mall and this was the case. The location is perfect which I believe is the reason for the rate being what it is because the place is horrible. It is old, smells weird and the rooms...first of all the bed sheets are really old and the pillows are horrible. I was afraid to use the pillow as it was so old and made me feel uncomfortable. I think this place is good if you are just looking for perfect location and not very expensive however for the quality of the hotel it should be half the price it is. The staff was ok but I would not recommend it to my friends.

“Bed bugs and pubic hair”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011 via mobile

The saying "you get what you pay for" is more relevant to me then ever. I was impressed by the price of the room, location, and front desk staff was really helpful. Hell I was even willing to have a sense of humor about the pubes on the bathroom floor. But after seeing a bed bug on the bed my mood and perception of the place was immediately soured.

Don't be tempted by the price. Well unless you want a bed bug infested bed!

“Its not as bad as you think.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

The location is fantastic. Just over the bridge to downtown, close to the Rose Quarter / Lloyd Centre. And fareless square makes it free to travel downtown. The Good: Staff are nice and Internet has to be the fastest WIFI I have had in a hotel (even when you compare to Westin Hotels!). The hotel is basic. Has TV and Cable. The bed sheets are very clean. The rooms, hotel, furniture are dated and tired looking. Albeit rooms are kept clean and tidy. And the price is so cheap so what would you expect? You don’t expect a 5 star banquet when you go to McDonalds right? The location is great and if renovated then I would still come. But having said that I come to Portland for the city and shopping so I only use the room for sleeping. Rooms are ok. If you are after a budget hotel better than a hostel then it is worth it.

Room Tip: Not overlooking the MAX line if youre a light sleeper.

“Filthy, Stinky, not cleaned from last guest, extremely noisey”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

I read reviews prior to making reservation and reluctantly called and inquired comments re; online reviews, ultimately booked one night. I waited 20+ to check in.Room was so ranchy and stinky i could hardly stay-if garage was not so unsafe, i would have slept there.Toilet not cleaned w hair on seat, sink didnt drain, internet, tho ensured on phone worked, did not-I was logged in but too little bars to work. Coffee still in pot from last quest. didnt even wear slippers as i didnt want them to touch floor.checked matteress for bedbugs, and OMG the mattress had to be 30+ yrs old. couldnt open slide door for air and listen to tv at same time, as Trimet was one floor down and ran continuously. NEVER STAY THERE- save $78 sleep under burnside bridge!!

Room Tip: Dont stay here!
