My wife and I wanted to get away for our yearly vacation together without the kids, so we booked our trip at The Nines in downtown Portland. Everything about the place was nice, the service was good, and when we checked out the front desk just emailed us our final bill and said that everything was good to go. After a 5 hour drive home, I looked at the bill online and saw that they charge $40 per night for parking. I reviewed my confirmation package which said nothing of that, then I went to their website and reviewed all hotel policies of amenities which you can be charged for and nothing was stated there as well. We don't have paid parking in our home towns, so this is a foreign concept to me. When I called the hotel and spoke to them about it, they checked my confirmation and reviewed everything and said that they understood because there is nothing online or in confirmations to let people know there is a $40 per night parking charge. When I asked to speak to a manager, they said there was nothing they could do about it and hung up the phone. I called back and they said that parking charges were normal and I needed to just deal with it. Trust me, you DO NOT want to stay here at this hotel. There were several other charges that appeared on my bill that I wasn't aware of.
