We fly out of Portland several times a year for vacations, visits to family out-of-state, etc. The Clarion Hotel by PDX has been our hotel of chouce for quite a while whenever we have a flight that leaves before mid-morning. Portland traffic can sometimes come to s standstill, so we don't take chances on getting stuck and missing our flight. Check-in the night before is always very efficient and the rooms all are spacious, comfortable and include almost any amenities you might need. The long-term parking charge is quite reasonable. The full, hot breakfast in the morning is another great bonus. If you have to leave for PDX before 6 a.m., there's yogurt, rolls and pastries, fruit and coffe or tea to tide you over.

Spent one night prior to flying out and enjoyed the many amenities offered by this hotel. The bed was firm, the room was large with a small table/desk and chair combo. The bath had a full tub, fluffy towels and a variety of soaps and so forth. Overall the place looked clean and seemed to be very quiet. The breakfast buffet had the usual cereals and breads plus hot plates for eggs and sausage patties.
The hotel also has a 7 and 14 day stay-and-park option with a free shuttle to and from the airport. The normal rates for this hotel made it more than competitive with the Sheraton, Aloft, and other properties, but using a coupon from a travel brochure brought a one night stay and 14 days of parking to $111 including tax. The brochure is one of the comic book sized magazines that are frequently found in convience stores.
At the main desk a largish sign asks guests to comment on TripAdvisor or a couple of other rating services. I found that refreshing.

This hotel is positioned a half notch above Hampton and Holiday and a bit below Sheraton and Hilton. It is an upmarket take on a value hotel. While not luxurious, it has nothing to apologize for in terms of comfort, style or amenities. The price/value relationship is excellent.

The Tempurpedic mattress, soft cotton linens, well above average free breakfast, free wifi, pleasant decor and proximity to the airport make for an excellent airport hotel.

Stayed here in October 2011 during a business trip on night of arrival and day of departure. Located near PDX it was very convenient. The property looked nice. The staff were friendly. The room was a good size with comfy bed and work space. The room was clean and quiet (important for jet lagged traveler). The tv and heating unit worked fine. There was also a microwave and fridge that seemed in working order. Though I didn't have a chance to sample the breakfast the area looked roomy.
All in all a great stay without complaints.
