I wouldn't choose to stay in this hotel, but I'm booked there through work. The staff is fussy, and the rooms are plain, small, and boring. I think it's pretty expensive.

Caught this hotel online last minute as my primary PDX hotel was booked. Room was clean for the most part and very spacious. Service was great, the shuttle was on time and the location near PDX was good as well. All I can say is that it was "painfully trapped in the 80's" there are pictures on their own website. Rooms had etched glass with the hotel logo, and ironing board that comes out of the wall, equipped with its own spot light, and standard old school TV set. The room was very large and would be great for entertaining. They offer free breakfast to guests. All in all, it was a value and room was clean, if the style doesn't matter too much to you it would be a decent choice.

Even though the room is visually outdated (and the tvs are from the 80's) the extra separation between the sleeping area and the dining/living area was great. Dinner and breakfast coupons were nice as well. Compared against it's own class, I'd say well done for value - note, we did book this at a hotel online booking price.

I stayed 2 nights over Thanksgiving at the Shilo Inn. It was a very enjoyable stay and we so enjoyed the Thanksgiving Buffet at their restaurant. Though the rooms could stand some updates overall it was great and the staff very attentive.
