“Noisy place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2008

I stayed one night. Had requested a non-smoking room which ended up to be on the ground floor. Don't recommend the hotel to noise-sensitive folks. Located at a busy intersection with inconsiderate guests as the rate is low. The building is close to the busy street with no buffer.

Most everything was clean & in good order. No hair dryer! Room had frig & microwave.
Receptionst was frindly & polite. Again, noise was the main issue.

“Cheap, clean, friendly place for those on a budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2008

people found this review helpful

I booked here with some hesitation based on earlier reviews but I'm pleased to say that I found it to be totally fine. I ended up staying 8 nights in 4 separate visits in October. I never had any troubles and found the staff to be incredibly pleasant and friendly in the mornings and evenings.
Highlights:
- refrigerator already cold
- microwave in most rooms
- mattresses and linens were practically brand new
- small, but nicely clean rooms
- inexpensive
- fast food places on the adjacent corners
Minor downsides:
- noisy traffic
- guests are mostly construction crew laborers so it's noisy at 6 AM as everyone starts their trucks and leaves
- only breakfast choices are English muffins and regular muffins
- relatively thin walls
- not many easily accessible outlets for charging electronics
- flaky wireless internet access

I found this hotel to be totally satisfactory for a budget-minded traveler.

“Not the best Econo”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2008

I made a mistake when booking this Econo Lodge, I was trying to get a room near the Portland Meadow Race track. They were under going renovations and had not gotten to my room. Lots of street people hanging around. Very busy noisy street make sleep hard. I made sure to park in front of the office to make sure my car was safe.

Small breakfast served the the lobby.

Not the best Econo Lodge I have stayed in.

“PDX Dump Expo-sed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2008

Stayed 4 nights at this hell-hole. Never again! Area is even more creepy than last time ; broken-down car with 4 flat tires in one of the parking spaces, suspicious looking women peering over the upstairs railing as you went to your room each evening. Front desk was helpful, each day we had to go ask them for basics: washcloths, soap, plastic glasses. The housekeeper never changed the sheets the whole stay, and was miserly with leaving towels etc. Noisy-YES! Safe? Hmmm..., Clean? NOT! The mattress was fairly recent, but the boxspring should have gone to the dump a long time ago. Crusted and filthy! To get hot water you had to run it for over 2 minutes, wasting a lot. We're looking elsewhere next time!

“Awful Hotel !!!! Don't Stay Here!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2008

I booked this motel sight unseen. Huge mistake. Prepare to get very little sleep because this hotel is on a corner of a very busy, noisy street. It is also right across from Exotica (a strip club!!) There were some creepy looking men walking around the parking lot talking on their cell phones. This is the first time that I have ever had to push a table in front of the door because this motel was in such a terrible location. I was even worried about my cars safety outside in the parking lot!
To make things even worse there was a small hole in the wall by the floor and a hole on the blanket. The room was very small. Also their idea of a continental breakfast is coffee and muffins. No juice, milk, cereal,or even hot water to make tea. :+( .
Portland has a lot of hotels so avoid this one.
