I stayed at US Suites in Portland for a few days last summer. The rate was cheaper than suites at downtown PDX hotels, but it was a much better value. Because it is an apartment, you really feel like you're in a home rather than a hotel, and the location is excellent (in the Pearl District). While the place isn't perfect (carpet stains, scratched up furniture, etc.), the problems are very minor and I would definitely stay here again. You even get two free parking spaces in the garage (at hotels in PDX, one spot alone is a $20/night value).

My only complaint was that it was difficult to get in the place. We were lucky enough to arrive while the building management office was still open, so they let me in (the keys are left in the apartment, so you have to go in to get them). We tried to find the US Suites connection through the telephone security system, but couldn't find it. And friends who came to visit couldn't ring up (because we didn't know the code), so they always had to call on their cell phones so we could go down and let them in. Aside from that inconvenience, I really enjoyed my stay at US Suites.
