We were arriving late and a lot of times this can mean a lackluster welcome with the night crew.
This was not the case with the Monaco. We drove in and our car was quickly taken care of in the underground valet. It's just a quick elevator ride up to the lobby where we were greeted by the slightly goofy yet very helpful and friendly Stephen. We were directed to the 10th floor to our King Premier Suite.
The room was bright and like many other Kimptons was a bit funky in it's style. All our IC amenities were laid out and for it being a Valentine's trip the bed was covered in rose petals. The room is large and the separate seating area is great for relaxing in the evening. The bathroom is very large and the dual shower heads make for a great morning.
Everyone in the hotel was friendly and helped us quickly and with a smile. The hotel was extremely clean, both in rooms and the rest of the hotel. The furniture was fun, in excellent condition and all very comfortable. If I really had to nitpick, maybe an extra couple outlets by the beds would be nice. There were tons available in the sitting area, but relatively few in the bedroom.
Overall though, the stay was perfect and really complimented the fun weekend in Portland. If I'm back in Portland the Monaco will be at the top of my list.
