“Great place!”

We ate here 8/8/07. This is a longstanding, well-known restaurant with a great view, right across from the Anchor Inn. They have an extensive dessert list, all homemade and very good. At lunch we had outstanding clam chowder, and at dinner we had one of the specials of the day: excellent fresh local lingcod with Parmesan crust. The fresh veggies are done just right also. There are no reservations taken, but it's worth the wait.

“Go to Fred Meyer instead!”

Since it is the only restaurant in Oceanside, and it was 8 p.m. on our anniversary, we stopped in. The wait was an hour and 15 minutes even at that time. When we were finally seated, we were brought a hoagie-sized loaf of brown bread (about 4 mini slices). We were starving after waiting all that time. My husband decided, after seeing the prices, to order a $7.50 burger that said it came with grilled onions and mushrooms and "all the trimmings." It was a standard-size burger with standard lettuce and tomato and a piece of grilled onion. Oh, and some potato chips. A fine-dining restaurant can't afford a few fries or some roasted spuds? My spicy garlic chicken pasta, at $16, sounded excellent. There was about half a cup of penne and about 8 bite-sized pieces of chicken swimming in a sauce so spicy I could not eat it. And despite it being almost closing time, I could not get another glass of water or any more bread. The "big" salad, which we split, was a small plate covered in 1 layer with lettuce. The saving grace of the place was a duo with a harmonica and guitar, singing Dylan songs. They were great--but we won't be back. Eat somewhere else on the way to Oceanside, even if it means stopping at Freddy's in Tillamook for a frozen pizza to cook at your rental house! We won't be back.

“Great food, service, and view”

My girlfriend and I had dinner at Roseanna's Oceanside Cafe Sunday, July 22nd, 2007 and it was great. The cafe is not very big so it had a nice quiant, cosey feel to it.

I ordered the Tidal Wave, a sort of Philly steak and cheese type sandwich but with a lot of mushrooms and onions, and perhaps more cheese if that's possible. It was good, not amazing, but I enjoyed it. I also had a salad, it was very good, very fresh and green.

My girlfriend ordered one of the specials it was Sole stuffed with Salmon and some kind of creamy white sauce(I think there was cream cheese in there). She liked it a lot. She said it was very light and tasted great. She did get a tiny bone in the salmon wich she had to put on the plate but this is often the case with salmon. She also had the clam chowder, wich she said was good and thought the clams were great(she likes to eat all the clam pieces out first). Also a sort of rye bread came with it, she loved that and said it was kind of sweet.

Overall I think the food here is good. If you are expecting the best food of your life, you probubly won't find it here. However, it is very tastey and satisfying. Probubly the two best aspects of the place was the service, extremely fast and friendly, and the view. The view is directly out over the bay, you can see waves crashing and huge rocks sticking up out of the ocean. I loved the ambience and view the most.

Our bill was $28 and some change, pretty cheap for what you get if you ask me. Someone on here said they paid $60?! I don't know how many bottles of wine that includes but that is more than twice what we paid for a very filling meal.

I would recommend this cafe to anyone visiting the Oregon coast. It is definatly worth giving a shot, especially if you love seafood.

The place was slow, and service was still horrible. The dinner cost us sixty dollars for two people and the food was bland and not much to it, we were not the only ones in there dissapointed. Ate across the street the next night and was happily pleased.

“The little known secret of Oceanside,Oregon”

I have been to this restaurant many times and I would equate the food and service to that of any fine seafood restaurant in Portland,OR. The wine list is very adequate with good variety and depth. The prices are very reasonable and the corkage fee is just right if you bring your own special wine. The seafood is excellent! The fresh specials are well developed and a good value.
The extensive dessert listing is equally superb! I have never been dissapointed with any aspect of this restaurant and I look forward to my next visit.
